I had a old dark grey claybar that is sticky and work very well with shampoo and water. However, the Sonus's clay bar break down small pieces very quickly. Do you know which brand of claybar will work well with self made lub?

Must be the soap/clay combo. Sonus works OK for me with Griot's Car Wash but other clays turn soupy. | |

Join Date: Mar 2001 Location: Autopia... Where else! Posts: 6,403 | For those of you having trouble with your clay getting mushy when you use a quick detailing spray, the basic problem is that most QD sprays contain some amount of alcohol. The alcohol disolves the clay.

I used Meg GC. The GC really brake down Sonus's clay bar fast. The car I was working with was only a few months old Camry.
Well...I will try PB SSS next time to see. | |

I recommend that you follow the instructions you get with the brand of clay you use. If you don't like the results, look for a different solution.

I still have some of the Sonus lube. I try out both tomorrow to see if there is a difference. | |
