Layering Zymol Vintage/Destiny over FMJ.

I detailed my "Guards Red" Porsche Boxster last year before storage.

My treatment (thanks to all you informative folks here) was . . .

Wash with Menzerna soap
Black Magic clay/lubricant
1x PC7424 6" white pad FPII
1x PC7424 6" grey pad Menzerna glaze
2x PC7424 6" grey pad FMJ

The car came out of storage end of March. Some minor swirls viewable in sunlight remain. I understand that Porsche "Guards Red" color is a pre-mixed paint and clear coat instead of clear coat alone. Therefore, I do not want to be too agressive in removing swirls. I bought the car used and removed about 70% of the swirls over the last year.

I am planning to enter local Concours contest this spring/summer. Should I stick with re-coating FMJ "or" do over with FPII-Glaze-FMJ "or" just layer with some Zymol wax. I would like to get a deep color and wet look while masking the swirls for the contests. Would the layer of Zymol ruin the exisiting look?

I have the sampler Zymol containing Destiny, Vintage, and Atlantique which has been collecting dust since using the PC and Menzerna products.

I would just try layering for trial purposes - but figured someone out already has done it and could share if it's a good/bad idea. I didn't know if Zymol would even apply and last over FMJ sealant.

FMJ does look good right now and I receive many compliments from neighbors, friends, even local dent removal/body shop guys (again thanks to Autopia).

The cars I detail for concours d'élégance are always finished with a polymer (like FMJ) for it’s inherent 'shine' and a Carnauba wax (like Zymol Destiny or Souveran) for Colour, Depth and Clarity- the three factors concours judges look for when scrutinizing paint film surfaces, elements you can't obtain from a polymer used alone

I would repolish with FPII or FP and re layer FMJ then some Vintage.
