Mother's Reflections Car Wax and FX Tire Shine: A Review

I am working on two cars today so bear with me as I post some early results.

I cleaned my door jambs today and wanted to apply a wax (you might be Autopian if...) so I broke out the Reflections wax from Mother's and some Sam's Club MF and went to town. I used a mild NXT soap mixture on the jambs and surface was very smooth.

Here are my thoughts:

Scent: Things are smelling so good in detailing these days why not comment. Reflections has a nice lime smell similar to a fine gentlemen's shaving cream. But it's not too heavy. A+

Application: Wow. I mean Wow. This is the easiest to apply and remove wax I have EVER used. You barely need MF to wipe it off - no, seriously no, resistance in buffing out. Hazes up fast and whitish, no dust. A+++

Looks: Very reflective, like AIO in some ways but wetter like Souveran but not quite that wet. A-

Durability: To Be Determined since just applied.

Here are some pictures of my door jambs. I hope to apply this great product to my wife's champagne colored Camry later and post pics.

Next up was FX Tire Shine, another new product from Mothers, both from Pep Boys)

Look: Very glossy, perhaps too shiny for some here but very nice. A
Application: Spray bottle, well constructed, easy application to Eagle One Tire Swipe. A
Durability: To Be Determined.

Mothers has two winners here in my opinion. I think the key to Reflections is to use a very little bit. In my experience today a little goes a long way...

I will try to post some Camry shots later today.

Do you know if the FX Tire Shine is waterbased? Looks very nice IMO, not too glossy. Maybe the perfect shine.

Don't make me go out and buy these products! I use to be a fan of Mothers when I first started out. I still use their Showtime QD. I agree with CutNAction with the tire shine on looking good.

I don't know. I will see if there is anything on the bottle...

FX Tire Shine, Reflections Tire Care and Mothers Protectant are all water based.

Have you had a chance to drive the Lexus since you applied, and if so, did you notice any sling?

Blake is an unknown quantity at this point
Next question is Do you plan on applying the TopCoat over the Reflections Wax when you put it on your wife's car.
Seems that there are too many new products this time of year but I understand why everyone brings them out in the Spring. We end up with full shelves every fall.
Assume the new wax is a blend of polymer and carnauba.

Nice... I can't wait to see the rest of the new products for this season. The tire shine looks great, glossy yet very clean looking, not streaky like a lot of other products with that level of shine.

Carl, no sling so far.

Here is another shot of the tires:

Gold metallic Camry following wash, clay, SSR2.5, AIO, then Reflections:

Notice how reflective the shrub is in this one.

A very liquid look and quite reflective...

Weird. I was about to start a thread asking people's thoughts on Mother's new Reflections wax. Where did you buy it? I've been looking around here and none of the autoparts stores seem to carry the line. Pep Boys still has the old Reflections here.

SilverLexus, very nice job! Beautiful pics! Every time I use one of Mothers' synthetics, I'm amazed at how easy they are to use.
