It would be interesting to see if they would accept your testimonial for their extra-extra-extra long home page. If the government is shelling out 75 bones per two ounces to protect radar units on battleships, maybe I finally figured out where all my income tax monies go.

I hope the poroduct is better than the warranty. Even if they come through at some point I still lose 15 dollars in shipping and handling fees. For the price of those fees I could have bought two bottles of the dupont teflon wax!

Fiso, let me know your order # and I will look into it.

I can understand you all being critical of our product. It is not meant to be for those who like to layer their cars with product. It is for those who would rather do other things on Saturdays than wash, wax and or layer their cars. I've had mine on my Volvo for over a year now. I've only needed to wash it with a wash mitt and plain water. Each time it comes out looking as great as when I originally treated it.

I am guessing none of you bothered to look at the reviews that there are on nicoclub.com and believe it or not someone here on autopia (kiwi133) tried it out and posted pics of his work. It looks great and the protection will outlast anything else out there.

There are many products that had a beginning somewhere and have since over time earned a great reputation. I am working to give 5 Star Shine just that. A great reputation is built on users, not based on people who make up their minds before trying.

I can understand someone being skeptical, but I have the reviews to backup the claims.

Chad-I read the reviews on NICO and came across this post:

"If for no other reason than to support those who pay the bills to keep NICO running, consider trying the 5Star!" AZhitman (site adminstrator).

I'd be more interested in reviews from a site you don't have any apparent affiliation with.

Scott, it's a catch 22. To try get cred. I really worked at getting a moderator to try it though nobody got free product but purchased it based on the needs that they felt 5 Star could meet. As you know that you can only plug a product by being a sponsor of a site etc. So I had to start at nicoclub.

As you know, moderators spend alot of time on their sites, people get to know them and respect their opinions etc...
That's why I point people to that because nicoclub.com is the first place I started to promote.

I can see your concern/point regarding what you say but there are others with no site affiliation that also have written in with great experience and feedback.

No problem, I for sure don't want you to feel taken advantage of. I'm really trying my best to keep up with all of the ?'s and issues that come up regarding 5 Star Shine. I've been getting really great feedback reviews from people.

We use a sealant on our cars at the dealership; it is an aminofunctional silicone with some resins. I forget the specifics.

Its appearance is high shine, with little depth, which is actually very good for new cars in a showroom and delivery situation.

What we like best about it is that it lasts about 6 months out on the lot. Here in the northeast we get a lot of acid rain and snow, and what is most important is the protection, not the appearance. It looks OK, not Autopian, but decent enough (I mean, the cars are NEW, ferchrissake).

I see it as similar to Omaha Steaks. Great promotion, nice pitch. Decent product. If the pitch convinces you that the product is worth more than the folding green, you buy it. But, if you're the type of person who sits there and figures out the price per pound, then you're probably not going to buy 5 Star Shine, either. Nothin' wrong with Omaha Steaks; I just had a ribeye for dinner (I got them with GM perqs, not folding green). Nothin' wrong with 5 Star either. But, the value equation is different for everyone, and none of us can decide it for anyone other than ourselves. Of course that doesn't mean we can't share our value equations when helping fellow Autopians who come here asking; it just means that the final decision is up to each of us individually.
