Cheapest/best QD to buy in bulk??

So... anyone? I don't have running water during the winter, so I QD ghetto wash to get my car free of dirt and debris before starting my detail process...

Any opinions on this? I use a few cotton towels, thoroughly soak the car in QD, and remove the dirt and salt that way.. Then I begin my normal process, varying on the chemicals I'm using that way...

It seems to work well, but I go through a bottle of QD per wash, which is costing me like $5 per wash... That gets expensive in the winter...

So, what would you guys recommend in this position? Any good deals out there??

QEW was made for cleaning with little water. I think 2 quarts or so.

Definitely get QEW. I think Camping World was the cheapest place on the internet, according to many here.

Nice!

Can I use this like a QD? Mix it appropriatly, put it in a spray bottle, spray on and wipe off?

If not, what is the proper procedure? I've never used such a product before!

Camping world has it for $12.50 for a 32oz, and at 1/2 per half gallon of water, should last forever!

Don't forget there is also Meg's Final Detail! $16 per gallon. This is a shine enhancing spray though so if you are using a QD as a cleaner then you should probably use the QEW first. I don't think I would try to clean off salt and debris with a QD, winter yuck is very abrasive and wiping it off with QD will definitely scratch your car.

Try Poorboy's Spray and Wipe or QEW. My local Wal-mart stocks QEW so you can save on shipping. Then Final Detail is incredible. S&W is $37/gallon, but it acts like a waterless wash which is so ever nice in the winter.

At least in NJ, no QEW at Walmart Ordered mine from dyersonline. It was the best price I found for a gallon.

It's hard to beat gallon jugs of One Grand Show Off for $22.50.

QEW actually work on a dirty... not just dusty car? I find it hard to believe that all the steps people go through to keep a black car swirl free with sheepskim .. copious amounts of water .. careful rinsing and the the MF towels etc .. then in winter a wipedown with a QD or minor amounts of something like QEW and thats ok? To me winter washing should be 3 times as careful because of the road grit or are you'all in Florida and winter = 40F?

Nope, i'm in jersey, home of the salt trucks...

My outside water gets shut off in the winter.. My options are QD/QEW wipedowns, or nothing at all..

I rely on a heavy arsenal of swirl removal products and sealants to get me through the winter, and even then, its usually not swirl free... One of the downfalls of having a black daily driver with over 100k. on her, I suppose..

I can't let her go all winter without a cleaning, so I'll frequent the power washer sprays, and when I see a stretch of nice weather, spray her down, QD the rest off, FI-II, AIO, SG, then S100 her (or whatever chemicals i'm using at the time), to protect and shine as much as possible, and get that shine back for a few random days of winter top down driving and fun!

I know it's not a perfect procedure, but it's not a perfect world..

tell ya what though, after all's said and done, driving around with a mirror black car through fresh snow with the top down turns more heads than anything else i've ever seen!

So... What do you think is the best chemical for me to use in this situation, and where can I buy it in Bulk??
