Thumbs up Sonax Gloss Shampoo

SONAX - Gloss Shampoo

Well Autopians, I got this recomended to me down at my local car care store. (VIP there now, must be because of buying stuff everyweekend)

I have heard of Sonax before but knew it was only in Europe.

It look like we have a distrubutor here is Oz now.

I have been using Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo for awhile now and was looking to find somthing else, just for the sake of it.

The bottle has a measuring cup on the base of it that you can unattach a use the perfect reconmended 50ml for 10 litres of water.

The top of the bottle has a flip out "nipple" thing, which is good for the shampoo is very runny.

I followed the inrstructions and used 50ml for 10 litres and filled the bucket up. Lots and lots of bubbles. In fact too much. I dont like my bucket to be overflowing with bubbles and then not having enough water.

I dipped my Meguiars lambswool washmit in the water and set to work.

Now i usually sqeeze a tiny bit of shampoo on my mit for extra lubrication, but i tried it the first time without doing so.

I was suprised by how manys suds there were, not as much in gold class. I washed the roof with and then i applied a little bit of shampoo to my mit for the bonnet and boot.

Wow, appling the shampoo to the washmit really sets this stuff off. It is so slippery. It cleans beautifully.

I washed the sides with the same method. A weeks worth of rain and road gunk came off with ease.

Now for the rinsing.

I hosed the car off with high pressure, then a low trickle.

This shampp makes the body so slick that even with high presure i dodnt get as much beading as what i usually, in fact no where near as much.

With the low pressure hose (head detached) the water sheeted off beautifully.

The surface after rinsing was gorgeous to touch. It felt lightly waxed.

I used my usualy method, chamois followed closely by a microfibre towel to totally dry the car.

I then sat back and admired the freshly washed vehicle.

Now my car has silver paint and I havent seen it look that glossy and "hard" after a wash.

I am very impressed with this shampoo. Those that can obtain it, I reconmend you try it.

Now the rest of the sonax range looks overly basic. By that i mean lots of 1 step products. But this shampooo is the best ive tried.

I highly reconmend it

Sonax Gloss Shampoo came highly recommended by Larry Reynolds at Car Care Specialties(CCS). I mean in their opinion, at that time, it was their favorite although now it's a co-favorite with P21S. I bought a bottle of it a couple of years ago along with my usual yearly supply of P21S. At first it did seem to leave the surface a little glossier than P21S, but no slicker. I used it off and on throughout the summer to give Sonax a fair evaluation. After 4 or 5 months of use I decided my initial impression was based more on the build-up made by CCS than reality. I like the flip-top spout although I never used the measuring cup on the bottom of the bottle. It is a really great shampoo and if I couldn't get P21S I'd use it instead, but I can so I do, except .... I've been converted to Gold Class.

I've also been using it with great results, until... I met Mr. Raindance, the 1Z car shampoo. It's wonderfull, feels like the paint is made of silk. Don't know if it's sold in the US, though.

Thanks for the replies.

If I could try out some p21s shampoo i would, but we dont get it down under

As you can tell though, i love this stuff.

The Sonax range looks a little basic though.
