Glare Polish??

I got this in my email today......I tried some a year or two ago, I thought I was going to have to sandblast and repaint my car after I was done! Stuff sucks! Any other experiences?

Huh, I have have a hard time believing that. Glass doesn't block UV. If you want your household or automotive glass to stop UV rays, you have to buy glass that has a coating/layer of some other product in it that blocks UV.

Their pitch doesn't sound too convincing. Is it some sort of known fact that a polish with silicone can't be the best? No one can argue with those points? Man, they ought to check out Autopia. People here can argue with anything...

There a local detailer in my area touting this stuff , he is calling it Diamond Sheild , says it will last one year , and the warranty is in writing. His desciption was kinda comical , he said it has small glass particles in it that turn into a sheet of glass when applied to the car. I'm thinking to myself , isn't sand the smallest particle in glass , so that means your going to rub my paint with sand. Now to top it off he's charging $250 a car for this miracle product as he calls it.

Also, how, exactly, does this magical glass bond to the surface? Do I have to get out a glass blowing thingy to get it to stick?

So lotions with an SPF of "X" don't block UV rays either then. Hmmmmmmmmmm......

Yes, sunblocks work. It's because they have tiny glass particles that form a glass shield on your arms. Haven't you noticed that? If you aren't careful you'll get cut...

The sales growth was pretty funny. If he'd sold one bottle 9 months ago, and sold two since then, he'd have doubled his sales. How many other detailing product makers have doubled their sales in the last 9 months? Probably none...

I have used Glare for an entire summer by rotary application. My customers believ the cars look best with this product right after application BUT, 3 Months down the road the application is completely washed away. Therefore it is the same as any old 1 a month wax system.

Although, glare has solvents in it which makes it a pretty good cleaner and can also stand temperatures up to 675 degrees F.
