Look what I found. It was in a old box I had. Does anyone still sell this stuff?

Re: SurLuster

Funny; I used to use this stuff all the time. Very nice finish, but didn't last very long, if I recall correctly. Mine came in a black plastic container, though.

Re: SurLuster

The SurLuster U.S.A website is terrible. When I look for the wax online I cant find it anywhere. The first site it gives me is a store I can see from my house, but I don’t think they sell it anymore. That’s too bad, I thought it was a pretty good product and wanted to get my hands on some. Do any of you still use SurLuster?

Re: SurLuster

I know they sell it in Japan, but that’s too far for me to travel and my Japanese is not that good.

Is there any left in the tin you found? If it has been kept sealed you might be surprised that the wax is still good. From what I've read SurLuster was sold and the formula changed....... see post #4 in the following thread:

When I was a kid I would lick the brownie mix bowl clean. Can you tell?

Re: SurLuster

SurLuster is the most popular carnauba over here; they sell it everywhere. I'm pretty sure you can still buy it in the U.S., though.

IMHO it's a pretty good wax, easy to use, but doesn't last so long. It's also way over priced, at least in Japan.

Re: SurLuster

Kanechewa or Konichi Wa ( I dont know ). Hi percynjpn. You say it's the most popular carnauba in Japan. Is it popular like p21s or is it popular like turtle wax. Both are popular here but I think in very different ways. Is it more of a detailer favorite or is it found in the trunk of every car on the road? I’m just curious.

P.s. A couple more dog avatars and we can get a poker game going.

Re: SurLuster

its a popular wax in japan, but fewer people are buying carnuabu waxes, so its often on sales.

easy to use but doesn't last very long

Re: SurLuster

I just found out that the store down the road from me still sells this wax in the same tin that I have. When they heard that Surluster was getting sold to a company overseas they bought a pallet full of the wax. Looks like I don’t have to go to Japan after all. They sell it for $11 or $12 bucks. Durability is not so good but I think the look of this stuff is great. I f you don’t mind waxing once a month its it’s a good one to have around.
