Leather cleaner on BMW leather

I use lexol leather cleaner and like it as it seems to be decent cleaner, I follow up with Autoglym leather conditoner. I can never seem to get my buddys leather clean in his 5 series (I hate tan leather) I have read that people dont like autogly conditer but I think it works well and smells great, Anywho back on subject, what can I use to get it clean. the lexol seems to work well in the mini and other cars but this bimmer is kickin my butt. what is a good leather cleaner. Also what do you think about autoglym condioter?

in the long run its what works for me...

Thanks again.

If the dirt's that ground in, you may want to try a steam cleaner. I've used one on my friend's light gray leather in his RL and on a stubborn spot on my saddle brown interior on my 335i.

Re: Leather cleaner on BMW leather

All good choices. I'll add in another. BMW lederlotion. From the factory. Go to a BMW dealer and order it. The smell is a little funky at first, but you will love it after a bit. Nobody gets into my Dad's BMW without them commenting on how new it smells. Plus, it is a conditioner and cleaner in one step. It really does smell like a new BMW.

Re: Leather cleaner on BMW leather

The key to good leather care is to keep the surface of the leather protected and free from dirt and oils. Dirt and oils together with friction are what cause the breakdown of the finish on auto leathers. Cleaning on a little and often basis is much better then leaving it until it gets dirty. It should also be a simple process, no need for hours of dwell time or rubbing in of products etc.

Make sure you use a good water based fluorochemical protector that contains UV protection. Many of the 'protectors' on the market do not meet this sort of specification and will not protect your leather correctly. Conditioners do not do any of these things.

Maintian using either a water based foam leather cleaner or a maintenance product. Doing these things on a regular basis will keep your leather clean and in good condition.
Using water based products adds moisture to the leather which is the only 'conditioner' it needs.

Re: Leather cleaner on BMW leather

Woolite and distilled water cleaned up my 14 yr old tan leather seats nicely. Topped with 4 star leather conditioner.
