Quick question about 3M adhesive remover

I have to remove stubborn dealer sticker residue from a post factory tinted window. Is it safe? Thanks guys.

i would test a small spot on another windows that is factory tinted, just a very small spray on, let it sit for a little bit, then wipe off.

I think you should be okay, i used 3m adhesive remover on paint but never windows.

I'd say no - only because I successfully used this stuff to remove failed tint film from the rear window of a Mercedez Benz. I'd recommend using something more mild - Goof Off, Goo Gone, etc. But, as advised above, start on a very small spot and see what happens.

lex if it's the price sticker you are talking about, they are usually water based glue.

I'm not sure what kind of glue it was, but it was pretty stubborn. In the future I'll have to try plain water first. Thanks.

I tried brand X window cleaner (SFTW) first with no results. I then did a small test spot in an obscure area with 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner and saw no discoloration or etching. I then followed up with a second and larger test spot with the same results and great adhesive removal. I went ahead and did the whole section and got perfect results. Followed up with novus 1 spray for good measure.

Simple dish washing detergent in a sprayer should do the trick. Just get a 32oz. spray bottle, add 1 tbs of dish washing soap, fill with regular water, shake and spray, let dwell for a few mins and it should come right off. I use this method successfully in removing the adhesive from the windows left on by tint.

Yeah, I was in a hurry when I posted and should have been more specific. It was a used car dealer sticker (warranty info required by law) on the inside of a post factory tinted window. The tint was in good shape--just need the excess glue removed.
