which wax with AJT

Hey i use Acrylic jet trigger with poly charger and have awesome results on my red truck. I was using the aj carnuba wax also but its just to darn hard to remove. I like the lil extra shine/depth that wax gives over/under ajt. I know almost any wax will go over the top of ajt and bond fine but I'd like to layer ajt back over the wax eventually so that I have easy application and long durability. Simple for truck shows just to spray on ajt and wipe it off. I was just wondering if i use something like 50/50 wax or sourverin paste will ajt still bond over the top of the wax assuming it has a few days between layers or will ajt strip it all back off? thanks

Re: which wax with AJT

50/50 or Souv. won't strip AJT.

If you want something for "looks" to put over it; why not use Acrylic Glos?

WERKSTAT Detailing: Acrylic Glos

All the looks; quick; easy for shows after washing; no worries about bonding issues.

AJT will not bond over any wax, not even CJ. It has no cleaners, so it can't strip the wax back. Once you go to the wax top coat, you'll have to keep using that until you decide to start over with the Prime.

Really, everyone including jeff told me it bonded fine over cjt as long as u gave it24hrs in between and I never noticed any problems doing that.

Re: which wax with AJT

I stand corrected. I found this on the Werkstat site: "Even when topped by an acrylic or polymer sealant, the carnauba in the base coat can add a bit of warmth, a bit of depth, and a bit of hiding power to the finish. " That was in reference to the Prime: Carnauba, but the concept is similar. I still wouldn't expect to get the durability that acrylic sealants are known for, since the base is not as durable. This is the first I've ever seen of a sealant that can go over a wax, but apparently Jeff claims it is possible.

Re: which wax with AJT

I've been using OCW on top of AJT/DWG/AJT since winter and it's doing pretty good. I plan to do a complete detail EARLY in the morning and I will probably use the same process.
