Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

I saw this at Wal Mart, and picked it up. Is this an equivalent to Prep-Sol? I haven't tried it yet...

Re: Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

That's the same idea. Funny how they don't seem to have to list the chemicals in stuff anymore.

Re: Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

People often ask on this site where they can buy Prep-sol. If this stuff is the same, you can get it at Wal Mart where they keep the little bit of paint and body stuff that they carry.

Re: Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

Interesting find... I'll keep it in mind. The IPA/H20 mixture would still be the cheaper solution wouldn't it?

IPA/H2O is great, but not a replacement for prep-sol at all, IMHO.

Good find on the Prep-All. I was thinking of helping a buddy with some rock chips on his car and was going to go pick up some 3M GP Adhesive Remover (naptha) to prep the spots.

Re: Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

yes its the same thing..does the same job...I have used the dupont...Hi temp and 3m versions and this one and they worked the same ....and it works much better than the Alc/H20 mix at cleaning polish oils of the paint...

wear gloves using this and any prep sol product...it will dry your hands out real bad..they turn white...

your set now....

this works on taking of wax stains on plastic trim also...just use a fingernail brush to scrub them...then treat them right after...

Re: Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

You would use this after you polish the car to get rid of the oil? Instead of the Alcohol/water mix?

Prep-sol is like isa:water x10. ISA/water is definitely a good idea on a large scale, but for cleaning before adding paint etc, prep sol is where it's at.

Re: Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

Do you just apply it to a mf and wipe?
