Re: Optimum X

Well...IF it lasts 3 years...that's pretty good isn't it?

What is the rinse method you speak of and why? What do you mean by "glass and others"? What do you mean by powerful (durability)?

It's a pro-only product with a learning curve application. Durability on test panels is beading well at over a year.

I have gotten great results from most of OPT's line, how do I get some samples of this new technology you speak of. I don't want to be left behind!
Using a hose with no nozzle on it. They were using a high pressure washer
high pressure water applied to paint leaves heaps of beads on the surface
Low pressure hose with no nozzles causes less water to remain on the paint and the water to sheet away leaving no beads

Impressing me - well their products should work great of course but they don't
If it's beading for three years, that doesn't mean anything. Paint always beads when you put high pressure water on it or the car gets rained on

Unless there are new polymers that we don't know about yet, polymers have pretty much gone as far as they can. Permagard and others have taken all the top polymers that I know of

Hey if their products works brilliant then thats great, I'm not an anti optimum nazi

Yep it's called Zero. It's fantastic as it softens the clear to make it easier to get out serious swirl marks and scratches
You follow that with the awesome Knockout, Micro Finish and Pro Polish and once the coat of pro polish has cured, the zero hardens the paint to make it more abrasion resistant

$145 a litre but well spent. Makes Menzerna spread and spread and will not dust
As for glass, I'm refering to actual glass but not in it's solid state

Glare is I believe a polymer, not glass

Re: Optimum X

i was looking at the GLARE line of products about a year ago. thought their price was high so i contacted the company to try to find out how well they worked. they said there was customer pictures on the website. but there was no before pictures. so who knows how bad the paint was i before using their products, if their products were even used. so i called them to see if i could get a 2oz sample before spending all that money. i was told " just buy it and try it". very bad customer service. they were real bitchy on the phone. if you want to get their stuff at a cheaper price goto a honda motorcycle shop and buy the honda polish. same thing different bottle

Re: Optimum X

Honda Motorcycles

I was advised that Glare's own & Honda's (private label) version while very similar are not 100% identical in formulation.

Re: Optimum X

Glare is okay product line. I have used several of their products in the past. Meh. IMO there is alot better product on the market. It gunks up any trim and or nooks and crannies it gets in or on something awful. Definately needs a machine to apply, as it goes on hard. Comes off easy though. Has a really really nice wet finish. Decent durability, though nothing amazing. I think DWG has a better finish and roughly the same durability.

Their system works great for restoring plastic headlights!! The polishes, fillers, and sealant with fillers (really more of a tough glaze) make em look like new!

Reminds me of one of those early 90s "miracle" product.

IMHO the softening of the clearcoat concept is complete bunk.

If you do get Glare products, keep them shaken, as they like to seperate When mine seperated, I could not get them to re-homogenize. This is from my experience only.

I had a similar situation with them as well. They contacted me via email several times asking if i would like to try their product. I said sure send me a sample. They told me I would have to buy it that they don't send samples. I told them that If I purchased every thing people told me to try out I would be broke. Was told that if they sent samples to every one who wanted to try it they wouldn't make any money. My reply was you want me to try it! Well after repeated email asking me to try it and me with the same response they said they would send a sample. Gave them my address and I'm still waiting for the product to show up.

I wonder if I should send them my new address it's been a couple of years.

Re: Optimum X

Optimum X sounds similar in concept to X Kote.
