Great topic. Not necessarily in order:

ONR - really should be 3 entries as it is a great wash, detail spray & clay lube
Any Pakshak MF towels - I'm addicted
Collinite 476s/885 - I no longer fear my long winter (Thx Accumulator)
4*UPPS - gorgeous depth & shine achieved with such ease (Thx Patrick)
303 Aerospace protectant - great finish, very effective
OCW - great shine, so easy
1Z polishes - user friendly and excellent results (Thx again Accumulator)
Nevr-dull polish - works great, worth the stink
Pinnacle ultra poly clay - cleans without marring
Porter Cable 7424 - my arms & shoulders got a vote

(I'm still a newbie & there are so many products to try & love)

I wonder if someone could add up the items listed and determine which products are mentioned the most. ONR and FK 425 seem to be mentioned a lot.

ONR has been listed approximately 18 times, and several people have listed it as number 1.

Does this mean that it really works as advertised, and that I should try it?

Seriously though, if you have easy access to a garden hose, good weather, etc., what is the advantage to ONR?

Besides not having to drag around a hose and to balance multiple wash stages, ONR is safer than your conventional wash since you don't actually push the dirt within the soap solution. It encapsulates the dirt and makes it safer, quite contrary when you're using less water.
