Beading may not tell you everything, but it certainly is the easiest to judge. Imagine trying to actually do a test for cleaning ability or slickness????

Re: 7 Wax/Sealant Durability Shootout(muliple pics)

They use 109 on wheels (as i have started to) b/c it stands up quite well down there. Most of all its a product with alot of hype, while it will pass the squeek test for a several months beading and looks are highly diminished after about 10 weeks. Also, like i did they probably found it was more hype then acutal effect product!

Also, with regard the pics, what car shampoo are you using? I know that anything left in the shampoo such as gloss enhancers can have a massive impact on the beading of an LSP. Megs NXT shampoo for example leaves the finish very glossy looking and this QD type effective heavily effects beading and even leads some to believe that in one or two washes it has a removed there entire lsp!

May i suggest a gloss enhancing, polymer and silicon free wash is used such as Mothers California Gold Car Wash. It cleans well, lubes excellently and wont distort these post wash, rewetting pics?

Aboveclean,

Do you have any more pics of the wrangler now that we're in April? Interesting thread.

I think this issue is addressed with the control section of his hood.

I'm curious to see a recent update on this shootout.

Well, if tight beading is important to you then I guess it isn't doing as well. To me it just looks as if the sealants have more sheeting properties, and the "waxes" beads more, just as expected actually. And this has nothing to do with durabilty. The tight beading of the "waxes" will diminish with time, perhaps around the 2 month mark But there might still be protection left, as all of the waxes (AFAIK) are blended waxes and also contain some kind of polymer, except Souveran I guess..

Good job on the test. hope we'll get an update soon
