that is until I read the arby's nutrition facts. an arby's sweet tea has 3402 calories in a 16 oz drink. HOLY CRAP. .. and when is the last time you drank just one small sweet tea? No, we get the large 32oz and get 2 refills... thats like freaking 12,000 calories in just a beverage. it has 879 grams of sugar, 907 total carbohydrates, 425mg of sodium.
is that even possible? Nutrition Calculator
sorry for the rant.. I just found that very interesting
EDIT: reading the site again, tha has to be a typo. I'm guessing they meant 340.. agree? even then, 1 medium/large glass is 680 calories, we drink two of them, so 1360 calories just from drinking sweet tea.

that's 1.93 POUNDS of sugar, if correct...
it's just ice tea w/ sugar, right?

3402 Calories is more than a weight gainer shake! LOL I think it is a misprint.

Worst part about most places sweet tea is they use high fructose corn syrup as the sweetener. Its calorie content is the same as regular sugar but it fails to trigger the satiety sense like real sugar does. Drinking tea with real suger makes you full after a while, HFC sweetened tea (or sodas) don't. Yet another reason the soft drink folks switched to HFC, they sell more product.

Yea, I find bottled sweet teas and sweet teas from restaurants to be absolutely disgusting. Wayyyy too much sugar, far too little tea. You might as well add a few drops to a bucket of sugar and try drinking it
Publix seems to be the only people who get it right, and no strange preservatives either. My favorite from Publix is the peach flavored one... whole meatball sub, two beef potato balls, and a $.79 peace flavored tea. I'm set .

Before you reach for the diet tea, there is emerging evidence that sweet tasting foods trigger an insulin response (which usually triggers fat storage). So switching to diet may not be as helpful as you think.
