When I was working through college I had to sneak a workout on my hour lunch break, Luckily the gym was 5 minutes away. Eating healthy makes your day go better. On Friday it was my cheat day so I would eat like 2 double whoppers with cheese and fries and I was ruined for the day(LOL).
5 to 6 small meals a day is the way to go. Keeps the energy up all day.

Since I have moved to college I have lost another 5+ lbs. Along with eating healthy, smaller meals, I try to swim every day I am at my appt (5 days a week), and I have been doing some walking lately (1-2.5 miles).
I find that walking is more peaceful than running for me because it allows me to see the world and also allows for a great deal of thinking.
Greg

Detailing plus treadmill time plus a healthy diet keep my sugar level in control. I detail as a paid hobby and also have a Mon - Fri regular job, so I'm busy.
I thought about a bowflex until I got started in detailing. I think that this is a pretty good workout and a nice sense of accomplishment at the same time.

Weights (99% free weights) 5-6 days/week; cardio (intense cardio ) every third day. Been doing basically the same thing for about 20 years and I'm in better shape at 46 than I was at 26, (and still have bodyfat in the single digits). I basically never miss unless I'm sick/injured or engaging in something that precludes working out.
Lots of small meals, lots of water. Virtually no empty calories..it's easy for me as I just don't like junk food or other such stuff very much. Lots of sleep too, I sleep until I'm rested. Used to think that sleep was just wasted time, but I find that being thoroughly rested improves my quality of life when I'm awake, sorta surprised me

Join Date: Jul 2006 Posts: 950 | I lift weights 2-3 times a week just doing core/compound exercises like squats, dead lift etc...works best for my body type. I'm 25 but have a 12 year old metabolism and am a mix of naturally muscular and ectomorph....doesn't make any sense for me to hit the gym and do 8 variations of bicep curls.
That said, even at the ripe age of 25, if I dont see the gym in two weeks I start getting weaker pretty quickly...getting older has its ups and downs.

Heh heh, I had that 25-but-12 metabolism too...kinda simplifies things, even if it keeps you from gettting massive.
Heh heh, I will tease you a little about somebody in his 20s talking about "getting older has its ups and downs" though Wait until your metabolism slows down a little and you actually have to start planning out your nutrition and workouts...makes it a little more challenging

Posts: 128 | Re: You guys workout 54 hit the gym 2x3 times a week weight machine free weight kills me any more get hurt to easy. i'll do 2 different excersies for each body part, with a weight i can do just make 15 reps then do 25 with a 10 second break when tired then push till i hit the 25 mark then 2 minute rest between sets. one body part a week will get 75 reps using the above reps 3 sets of 25. then next time you go back hit another with 75 reps till you hit each body part once then start over again it's not easy but works well to strip off body fat and gain some strenght. also ride a bike in the gym just to warm up i walk a lot at work .
