OILY SKIN!!!! Anyone know of products or treatments??

i have an oily T-zone, forehead and nose all year round. Gets worse in the summer and a little better in the winter, but its still noticeable. Can anyone recomend products or treatments that they have used to clear up the oil. I have to walk around with a hanky in my pocket to wipe my face a couple times a day, kinda anoying, but what else can i do. My dermatologist isnt much help, they all suck i believe unless u go to the ones that the movie stars go to. Well anyway leave some feedback if u can help, i would appreciate it. thanks

j/k.

Me too. Gets worse when your hair starts going. I just wash 2-3 times per day.

I have the same symptoms. What I use is (in order):

-Men-U Face Wash
-Sharp's Tuner Astringent
-Anthony Logistics Oil Free SPF15 Face Lotion

I do this regimen once in the morning and night and it has drastically cut down on the oil on my face. I use the Astringent with a cotton pad which works great. If you get oily throughout the day, just touch up with the Sharp's Tuner, it takes about 15 seconds for your face. This regimen also helped clear out clogged pores and blackheads.

If you suffer from spotty acne, you may want to look into a nighttime cream with Salicylic Acid. This helps keep the face oils flowing properly and pores clean. I have had nice success with it as well.

Good Luck!

yeah ill look into that, only thing is some of that stuff may irritate my skin, i got sensitive skin. But i will def. look into those products. Now i see a derma. that gave me perscription acne medicine , differin, that works well. You wouldnt still use the medicine with all that other stuff would u??? i would probably not, be to much, but i could experiment in some areas

yeah my face is pretty much clear. just get 1or 2 zits that pop up each week. but the rest is mostly clear. that S acid irritates my skin man, cant mess with that

mgk65...why does it get worse when hair starts going?...I am curious as I have a bit of oil development around my hairline almost daily. I wash with a 2% salicyllic acid wash and follow with a glycerin bar soap. I then apply an oil-free moisturizer.

I don't have a definitive answer, just a theory that as we lose hair, there is less surface area (i.e. hair follicles) for the scalp oil and sweat to be absorbed onto.

Our skin is also changing due to age and diet.

I go with a similar regime as Sean, except I skip the toner. For me, I find that the Men-U wash works just as good as a toner. I use it before and after shaving. For moisturizer, I use Baxter of California Super Shape.

My skin is oiley too. At work (I am a roadway/bridge inspector for DOT) I usually rinse my face with rubbing alochol. Then I wipe it off with a clean towel. It leaves you feeling clean and just washed fresh.

Mine is terrible . I tend to get more acne nowadays on my back and not my face , but it still is nasty to take my shirt of at the river and you have to look at that.

I been using nutragena power scrub soap and that has calmed it down a little , same with my face.

If you want to look into a toner, I also heard that the Minaji (sp?). Also as far as the rubbing alcohol goes, I have heard that over drying your skin promotes acne and I would assume that does on hell of a job on drying your skin up. Not 100% sure, just passing along some info here. My regimen consists of AOS face wash AOS face Scrub (warm water to open skin pores), eshave shaving cream applied with brush (cold water rinse to close pores), Minaji toner, eshave aftershave. I just recently started this and must say my face has never felt or looked better, and I too have oily tendancies.

I use Neutrogena's daily face scrub, Nivea's oil control lotion and sensitive skin after shave, and I shave with Braun's 7526 shaver. I also use a few Clinique acne products.

I also suffer from the oily T zone and break outs every now and then. Those products keep it controlled.
