Sweet!
Same here... comments from co-workers and friends are great support.
What's surprising is that people that see me every day are noticing... usually you don't get that because the change is gradual, but then you walk in wearing a black shirt that's one size too small and three people say "Wow, you're getting cut!"

Check out Corey's thread for a photo showing some of my progress, including my new 6-pack abs ( )
Down to wearing jeans in 32 now and they are fitting very comfortably... at about 185, and looking at the flab that's left, I think I can revise my original goal of 180 down to 175 or better.

I haven't been on Autopia much this year, but I thought I'd check into this thread.

I haven't posted on it for like 9 months, so I'll forgive you if you forgot about me.

I did find a routine and diet that is working for me. I've lost 35+ pounds since Feb 1 and added some good muscle too. It's a CKD setup and I got all my info from http://www.c-k-d.com if anyone is interested to check it out.

I've actually stalled out right now, the scale hasn't moved for 2-3 weeks although maybe my clothes are still fitting looser. It throws me off though because I was pretty steady at 1-2 lbs/week all this time until now.

I'm chaning some of it up a little to see if I can jumpstart it again and continue. I'm a groomsman in my friends wedding on the beach in Florida in two months. Gotta cut as much as I can before then!

/going back to reading all that I've missed lately on here

My current goals in the next 4 weeks are: 340 deadlift, 280 squat(im working on it, trust me), and a 275 bench. My stats are 6'1 176 lbs!!!

Jeremy- Congrats on making such good progress. For a jumpstart, maybe just changing your workouts could do it. But don't get discouraged if the scale doesn't move, it doesn't necessarily mean you're not still making progress.

Hondaguy2582- Those are good goals for a tall guy with a build sorta like mine! I think the squat will be the easiest of the three to realize by far and the bench the hardest, but that's just how it would be for me

Did you ever go on the creatine? If so, anything to report?

The only heavy lift I'm doing these days that's worth mentioning is the weighted chin-up (strict and slow, chin-over-the-bar, pronated grip to failure then supinated to failure for "double sets") where I'm up to bodyweight (172 or so) + 85 for my heavy sets.

Thanks. The "experts" on CKD suggested I take two weeks off from the diet to "reset my metobolism and hormones". I could probably use it, it's just so hard to change when you've found something that worked for so long.

1. I gain great on deads and squat, but bench can be a pain(its more just a mental game for me).
2. Yes, but I haven't been taking it religiously, and only using 2-3 gms instead of 5(I eat enough meat as it is). Imo, its worth it for the lil bit that it does.
3. I was doing weighted pullups(parallel grip though), but now i switched to chinups. The program Im on, all my assistance exercises(cept for power cleans) are at 8-12 reps for 2 sets. Once Im done with this, Ill probably go back to heavy for a cycle, but Im really trying to get my 3 lifts up.

Hondaguy2582- OK, good luck with those goals (I think you'll reach 'em). Yeah, it pays to concentrate on those and not blow your energy/etc. on a bunch of other work for now.

Sorta funny (IMO) about the pull/chin ups. While the supinated grip pullup works the bis a lot, I find that it (and the parallel grip one) also works the lats through a greater/different range of motion than the pronated grip chinup. Same ol' same ol' I guess, gotta do the different variations.

Im more along the lines of not taxing the cns right now. I find doing higher reps for a change helps. After im done with this routine, ill periodize my workouts into hypertrophy, strength, and power cycles!!!

Heh heh, so you young guys have to watch overtaxing the CNS too, huh? Sounds like you're well in tune with how you respond to various stimuli- that's very commendable
