I was actually wondering the other day how many calories are burnt spent detailing a car for six hours, sweating in the hot sun. Think of all the motions you go through, bending, moving hands around, lifting, moving things around.

I'm a very active member on several bodybuilding and fitness forums as well. I'm also an on line rep for Athletic Edge Nutrition. Dean I totally agree with the you on comparing the two. They are my main hobbies and what I love to do. Outside of taking care of my family and work thats pretty much what I do. Oh and play XBOX 360 a touch as well.

Honestly, if I HAD to choose between working but not washing my truck for a month, or washing my truck but not working out for a month, I am not sure if I could decide.

Roishe Cheng- I dunno...noting that I don't do any detailing in the sun (nor do I ascribe any really great benefit to perspiring), I never find detailing to be truly physically demanding in the way that deliberate exercise can be. It's just not really *hard work* IMO. Quote:

I to use to compete as an amateur bodybuilder. At age 44 I lost the drive to compete anymore. Istill hit the iron, just not as hard. I also started a Detailing Business 5 years ago. This has provern to be a jump start to the hard training that is required to compete. I do not think I will compete, anytime soon. I'm 50 now and in very good shape, will be 51 in June. Since I live in Columbus, Oh. I go to the Arnold Classic every year. That is also inspiration to pick the training up a notch. Just wanted you to know that there are alot of us out there training and detailing. Good Luck Be Inspired.

Fortunately I needed no rehab at all. So the first thing I did when I got home was hit the weights. Next morning I weighed in at a measly 177 (8 lbs less than before I broke it), so I been working my butt off to put it back on. Right now I a little over 180, hopefully I'll hit 185 within 3 weeks. Yea, the inability to train my forearms has really weakened my wrist shot. I've just started playing in a spring league and and just now regaining a half-way decent shot. Ugh. This has sucked bigtime.

Might wanna try some large-diameter bar wristcurls for your wrists and fores. Remember to angle down (wrists lower than elbows) for regular wrist curls and angle up (wrists higher than elbows) for reverse wrist curls. Use a light enough weight that you can do a full range of motion with no bouncing at the start of the rep
EisenHulk- Heh heh, you're one big guy..and that's some trap development you have there!

| Holy sh*t !!! EisenHulk !!! You're a beast !!! I bet you put up some impressive numbers !!! Those traps tell me you have have a great deadlift.
I have been holding out on posting these...
I made quite a few mistakes with regards to diet, and was very unhappy with my condition. If you see pics from my competitive days from 10 years ago, you will see the difference. Overall it just inspires me to make some major improvements for my next show (possibly this fall).
Lost a lot of much needed mass during the diet and competed at a not ripped 217 lbs.
Was deadlifting this morning !!! I HATE DEADLIFTS, but nothing packs on mass like basic heavy compound movements.

Clean Dean- You're still doing great, dialing in the diet/final prep doesn't get *easier* as you get older ya know Maybe you're not thrilled with how you looked for "contest condition", but that'd be a good build to have day-in-day-out.
You have some traps on *you* too!
