Re: Completely frustrated with Google and Yelp (RANT!)
Today I checked Yelp 4 of my 5 reviews which are all excellent have been filtered.. have no idea why it needs to be filtered.
It is my understanding that if you are mobile and do not have a physical address where you provide service google will or is going to remove your google place listing.
Many of these review site should have a disclaimer cautioning posters of their responsibility to not slander the reputation of a business or face legal consequences including tracking ip address... it should have this statement just before they press the button to send the review... it might make some of them pause before they rant!

4 days later and Adwords ad is still under review, they say they will review it within 3 days. And still no response from yelp.

Re: Completely frustrated with Google and Yelp (RANT!)
What he said ^^. They don't want people placing their HOME addresses on Google Places to avoid confusion. There's probably a lot more to it, but I see it as a safety concern. I don't really want people knowing where I live. You never know how crazy some customers or even competitors can be. My current priority is getting a set location, while continuing mobile services. (But that's a year away, gotta finish school first!)
Squeaky wheel gets the grease! Bug 'em, that's what I had to do. The problem with businesses like Yelp is they will always be understaffed. It sucks, but considering it's all free, what do you reaaaally expect? That's how I look at it anyway. It'd be nice if they had good customer service, but only small businesses can afford that.

Re: Completely frustrated with Google and Yelp (RANT!)
As I understand it new users reviews will get caught in the filter if they aren't an active member that posts regularly, has any "friends", leaves only a couple reviews etc. I too think I have 2 or 3 reviews and they are all filtered out. Yelp is going to be really important moving forward with apple maps on all iOS devices as it is supposedly integrated into the map software.

Re: Completely frustrated with Google and Yelp (RANT!)
Yelp is a complete joke. I'm glad I don't have to worry about it. They got all offended when I said I was as busy as I needed to be and didn't need to advertise with them. Strangely that's when all my reviews went 'filtered'. Screw 'em.

Has anyone ever tried to bury their negative Yelp rating from the search engine results page?

Re: Completely frustrated with Google and Yelp (RANT!)
Same thing happened to me, it gets worse as anyone can put up complete outright lies. My account was deleted also about this time, if yelp was fair they would have a place where customers could see a retort for bad reviews if they are bogus from the reviewed business owner or management.......................I had a guy give me a bad one and told me in ADVANCE he was going to lie his *** off.
Thank goodness most people can read between the lines, and when they meet me in person things are put in perspective.Bob Willis

Rich - What might be happening is that a provider of information further up the chain maybe might be overwriting your corrections. Here is the feeder system for address providers. http://getlisted.org/resources/prima..._providers.jpg
The site List Your Business on Google and Other Local Search Engines & More | GetListed.org can also help you with getting your information correct across the web.
I know in dealing with some of the directory style sites I have faced challenges in getting listings corrected, some of the providers want you to pay for your listing and own it before it will display the correct info.
Good Luck.

With regards to the changes you're trying to make to your accounts, have you tried clearing your cookies, cache, and/or history first? If not, try that, then make the changes and see if that works.
As far as Google taking 4 days to review an ad, that is just crazy talk. Delete that campaign and start a new one. It's detailing for crying out loud, not make money online. Your ads should be approved instantly.
Have you tried BingAds? (formerly Microsoft AdCenter). You can reach Yahoo and Bing search engine users. Not as much traffic, but there is traffic and they convert just as good as Google search engine users. Maybe better.
Also, with directories, there's a site called http://Manta.com you can put your site on. Gets great search engine rankings and is a solid directory. At least in my area (NY), but I'm sure they are good everywhere.
And I'm sure there are a bunch of directories like them. May as well put your business on as many as you can.
