Okay is it best to tell your customers the products you use, to the penny or leave them with wide open fields such as DA polisher, All Purpose Cleaner?

Also how long can equipment last without being used, such as a pc and a flex, ill be joining the Air Force and wont be using any of my equipment and left over chemicals, just for info Ill be away from detailing 4 years.

Re: Need Help Stuck

send me your stuff man, I'll take care of it for you. The machine, just make sure they are in a bag and stored away. The chemicals, have someone shake them up every other month or so and store at room temperature.

There will be plenty of guys doing detailing, and plenty of customers for you on base, just ask DevilsOwn. What specialty are you going for?

Oh, a video game guy No man, it's a job, you've got your time off, and your freedom to go off base, depending where you're stationed of course. PM Devilsown, he certainly has plenty of time for detailing and posting.

Does your customers really care? Are they asking? You can throw out brand names and a long list of products used like you see in the showcases reviews if you think it will impress them but most people will not know any better or care as long as the car or truck looks purdy. It probably does not harm unless someone is going to use it against you. It may be more important to tell them why you use these products (better results) and the skills.

I guess you are making a career change. Why the air force?

Very True!

Benefits manly, to serve my country, and provides an excellent back up plan if something goes wrong?

Re: Need Help Stuck

Hi,

Can you elaborate on the first question? Are you talking about telling your detailing customers about what you use when dealing with them directly, in ads/websites, or????

Re: you equipment & chemicals...............I would obviously be skeptical about having/using chemical 4 yrs. old. As to the machinery, a couple of suggestions.

First, is there any preventive maintenance listed in the op. manuals (aka, lubrication, motor brushes, etc.)? If so, be sure to do it before leaving. Keep the equipment dry and away from dust (stored in a tool box or maybe consider a plastic resealable bin)? Also, shoot off an email to the mfrs. about this. I find they typically reply. You might also want to chat with Tools-Plus Power Tools, Makita Tools, DeWalt Power Tools, Porter Cable Tools, Milwaukee Tools at Tools Plus or Coastal Tools Discount Power Tools, Discount Tools and ask support folks about them. They sell a lot and am sure they have come across this question for the PC for sure.

Second, will anyone have access to the tools while your gone? If so, you might ask them to run them periodically, just plug them in and spin them a minute or so every month??

Anyway, just my opinions....................I could be wrong

Good luck in the AF.

See ya.

I would like to put it on the website the equipment and products used to ensure they are getting the best for their vehicle.

Ill look into preventive maintenance on the power tools, ill get my family to turn them on every once in a while to ensure they will work properly so when I get back home i can use them.

Thank You!
