Looking to open a shop in NY, any interest?
Looking to open my own shop, been detailing out of my garage but its hard to get customers since I live out in the sticks and takes an extra 20 minutes to get from the main town to my house. Looking for like maybe possible partner or co worker whos interested in opening something. Of course you have to be as detailed as me and super clean. I know this is a long shot and not gonna be the smartest way to find a partner but what the hell. None of my friends care about this kind of stuff or are just way to lazy.
I work full time now and of course economy sucks so thought might just throw out this idea.
Rich

Re: Looking to open a shop in NY, any interest?
so you want to open up a shop knowing the economy sucks, in an area that is probably hurting more than others, with someone whom you know nothing about???
Rich, good luck! Unless you can find a super cheap spot where you wouldnt have to charge 500+ per car and knock them out in one day with a partner and do two a day just to cover the expenses, while being a little more upscale environment appealing to the eye making people feel really comfortable leaving their car with you, and one in a busy part of town hopefully next to a couple dealerships/body shops, I wouldnt open up a shop!

If you open a shop during this economy, I recommend you open somewhere close to dealership work. It's not to succeed on retail alone right now.

Re: Looking to open a shop in NY, any interest?
the economy is scarce . . . . . . im hurting big town out here in hawaii and am debating on moving back to the mainland where people actually care about their cars and won't mind spending to have things done properly.
I think you can find a partner on the net but just take some time to get to know the person . . . . almost like a interview or looking for a room mate . . . . . i wanted to open a shop but business has just been so slow it's crazy.
A buddy of mine though is still going very strong over in Honolulu . . . . . he recently opened shop and has been busier then ever. Some people i guess are just fortunate enough to be blessed with business during these rough times.

If you were in the 5 boroughs or even just outside I would be happy to.
