What do you think of my flyer and prices?
Attached is a PDF form of my flyer.
I was thinking $280 for a full detail (2-3 days), add $30 for oversized vehicles. I detailed a GT-R not too long ago and that was my first customer. I'm looking into more now. Everything is done at home so I don't have a shop or any kind.
I was thinking to go around my neighbourhood to:
a) Knock on their doors and tell them about my business, I have my Lexus IS-F with me so they can take a look at my work on my car.
b) Pass flyers around slip it on cars/mailboxes.
It's funny how one of my best friend's friend is an auto detailer as well. We all hang out in a group, he pretty much knows/details most, if not all of his and my friend's cars, he's been doing it for one and a half year now and he's got a good set of customers in his hands. Partner is a jerk, I helped him out and all he said was, "don't dry the car you'll scratch the paint, stop taking pictures and posting it as your work." When I wanted to try to clay bar a certain spot, he claims it's his spot.
It's hard for me because I just started, right now I'm targeting people out of my circle in general, instead of friends. It's funny how I use higher quality products such as Menzerna, Poorboy's, Chemical Guys, Swissvax etc etc. But this dude gets everything from Walmart.

$280 for a 2-3 day detail? I hope you're joking....I hope that's for a 2 step polishing detail. If I'm working on a vehicle for 2-3 days, I'm charging at minimum $900.

Well it is a 2 step polishing depending on the condition of the paint. Menzerna Power Finish comes in handy too for a 1 step polishing. Well, the sealants and waxes do need 24 hours to bond before I can layer more coatings.

I'll second that. It has to be a typo.
Yea, that can't be right.
I'm trying to grasp the numbers on this if indeed it isn't a typo. So on a hypothetical basis of a regular workweek for a regular Joe you're making less than $10/hr, minus the cost of product, equipment, electricity, water, insurance, etc.
Let me know if I'm totally wrong or way off the mark here. I want to see any Detailer succeed and make it so to speak, especially if they truly have the passion and drive to do so, I'm just worried that you're going to underprice yourself right out of the business.

Take the word "baby" out. I understand what you mean, but people will think you're an immature kid if you use that term.
Missing the word "a" between "for" and "thorough".
Add the words "paint protection" after "NanoTech Sealant", since people won't know what you're referring to.
Remove the words "clay bar", since most members of the general public don't know what that is. Instead, use the words "paint decontamination".
Remove the words "SPF-50", instead use "UV protection" or simply "sun damage protection".
Get your own domain, don't use a freebie gmail account.

Aka, as the WAS says...........best to focus on what your "customer" needs to understand. Different than BTB. You lowest common denominator is how much the customer knows about your business & your technology. So, always construct your message aimed at that level of knowledge. They will relate more to the "end result" and less to the technology that got you there; unless you are using something very unusual that has an unusual/different benefit from all the others, that you can quantify. Not just have an opinion on.
And, always....make sure spelling, grammar, sentence composition and ease of "readability" are utilized in the design of your prose.
Just my opinions....................I could be wrong.

Simplify it like it was said before, If I am reading your flyer, and thinking about a detail for my vehicle. If I don't understand a word of it, I don't think I want it done. Other enthusiasts and detailers understand what you mean. But the average joe probably says hes gonna wash my car and what else am I paying for??
As far as pricing. Price competively with your competitors.
Don't underprice your competition for business. Outperform your competition for business.
Appear, look and talk educated to your customers, but in the same time Educate them. Answer their questions and explain to them why you do what your doing in terms they understand.
Paint decontamination, vs. Clay Bar.. probably 9 out of 10 people have no idea what a clay bar is.

"nano sealant thatll last for months" doesn't sound profession IMO. be a little more specific on this. once i can think of a way to re-qord this ill come back to ya, its a bit early for the brain right now lol

You need to put an offer on the flyer that people can't refuse and then put an experation date on that offer. You have to have something on the flyer that will grab peoples attention and make them pick up the phone.

Great prices, and 280 dollars is no more than four hours labor or you LOST money. Just a point of interest here. Your main goal is to deliver superiority and NOT LOSE MONEY! Good Luck!
