Anyone selling products?

I was looking into selling products later on for my customers to keep their cars maintained better, or I'm I just shooting my self in the foot because it would mess with my detailing business?

Re: Anyone selling products?

I suppose if you sold them basic things like some upholstery cleaner to get out a spot or two if they spill something, or maybe a spray wax for them to use after it gets washed. But on the other hand then they will know where your getting your stuff from and realize they can do some of the things on their own. I guess if you dont offer a mini detail package then it wont hurt you too bad. But I personally wouldn't because I think there is more cons to doing that. You would probably make a very small profit by selling them as opposed to what you could make doing a $60 cleanup.

Re: Anyone selling products?

But on the flip side you could look into a private relabel of some basics... Wash/ONR, QD/Spray Wax, Spot Remover.

A few cars I've done (I don't do many do to my job), I've left 4 oz samples of ONR so they at least have a decent wash product. And I still get a call from the few I've done to do full on work again.

Chemical Guys has private labeling, might look into it, thats a good idea giving your customer something to keep their car cleaned.

Re: Anyone selling products?

I think you should ask your customers if they would be interested in purchasing products if you were to offer them. That way you know before you go buying your own label through chemical guys. Its definitly something that could work, plus how sweet would it be to have your own lablel. I think you should try getting some feedback from some of your dedicated customers to see if they would buy, let us know what they say!
