Passing flyers out to local businesses

Well a while back my Kickboxing instructor said that I could leave a stack of flyers on the main counter to try and help my business get off the ground. Question is, how do i approach the other businesses? There is a petco right next to my dojo which in my opinion would be an awsome spot for pet hair removal promotion.

As far as corporate companies go...how do I go about that? set up a meeting with a sales manager?

Im trying to get a solid plan set up for spring so when the time comes I can go out and get it done. Last year I slacked to much with basic Advertising and it cost me, so I dont want to screw it up again this spring/summer.

Re: Passing flyers out to local businesses

I work for a restaurant right now as a delivery driver along side detailing, and at the beginning of every season, we go around to all the local businesses and hand out menu's. Just put a nice shirt on, ask nicely if you can leave some cards or flyers at the customer service desk, from desk, w.e the best location for your product to be seen. I've never been turned down, just be polite and I'm sure you won't have a problem. I've yet to this for my business, but as soon as my cards and brochures are printed I'll be right to work.

My .02
Sean

Lol nah I would just put on whatever shirt you wear while you working on people's cars, if you don't have any, get some made with your name and phone number.

Re: Passing flyers out to local businesses

My dad works in the main office of Wegmans. He knows a ton of people who will do the embroidery for me. Also my buddies dad also knows someone local who can do it as well.

Most online sites will charge a fortune for one shirt, so look around town for any embroidery im sure there are a bunch.
