Re: new website.

I like the columns with the white dividers. I like the menu-bar.

2 suggestions from my drowzy-self. On the Services page, under the red hyperlink text naming your services, put (I would suggest in white font), "starting at $99.99" or whatever the price starts at. Having the dollar sign there just brings attention and has that "this is where the pricing is, click me" feel.

Second suggestion is with the photo gallery. Love the pictures, don't completely love the layout, although I'm not quite sure right now how I would personally change it. That needs some thought and planning... Not that it's bad or anything, I just think it could look a bit different.

Other than that, I think it's a VERY well designed site (this coming from a web site developper who has done several sites commercially).

Re: new website.

Just a small suggestion to add to Was's comments... I would make it so if any visitors click on your logo on any page that it redirects them to your homepage. That should be a relatively easy change. The site is very impressive and I see that you have spent some time on design! Best of luck to you with business and improving your site.

The Italian Concours in Des Moines. It's a fantastic show. We were sponsors last year, and again this year. index

Arrow Re: new website.

John,

I like your homepage a lot. What I find most attractive is the "foggy" loaner image on the lower right part of the page, as well as, the Metro Detail name and "Frasier-like" outline of the Seattle skyline at the top. Very cool, I really like that logo-name.

I don't care for the hard white & red font against the black background, though (perhaps that's why I like the "loaner car" note in the foggy lettering.)

The white/red on black is very stylish & looks good, but I find reading it "harsh", if you know what I mean. If you want a stark black background, I would increase the white and red type font size &/or soften the font with a different style to give the characters a bit more width. Would make reading it easier on the customer......will help "draw" them in a little better, I think.

On your "services page".....you're column that says "Dents, Dings, and Chips. We fix them all!" has a list of products/services under it that aren't all dent/ding/chip fixing, so to speak. You might want to subdivide that column and use an additional heading for the Aquapel, etc.. (also under the the paintless dent removal link, the images are too small to get the tongue-in-cheek thing quickly. The pictures don't expand when you click them.....hard to "see" the joke. Would either make the still photos larger or have them expand when clicked).

In the "gallery", it would be advisable to label the pictures, as well as, put the before/after shots side by side so you only have to click once to see your results.

On the homepage, under the subsection "professional auto detailing", the phrase "Black paint specialists" just seems to hang out there. I know why you say it......but, it either doesn't go there OR maybe would be better in a whole sentence.

Perhaps, modify that paragraph to something like this.........................

At Metropolitan Detail in Lynnwood, we not only provide you with high quality, professional detailing services coupled with reasonable prices......but also peace of mind that your car will be done right the first time! We're experts with all paint colors and finish types, plus black paint specialists.

Anyway, hope that helps. Just my opinions........I could be wrong!

Show us your final/modified version.

See ya. :

Bob

PS - one more thing I noticed re: commas. You use a comma in many places before "ands" and "ors" throughout. To me, it seems unnecessary (but not quite sure if it's acceptable/alternative punctuation use or not). Personally, I would eliminate most of the comma's in those specific situations.
