Thoughts on packages/prices for my detailing buisness!

ok guys....heres somewhat a compilation of packages/pricing for when i start my detailing business. This is NOT set in stone yet, mearly what ive been thinking in my head.

Firsty, ive decided to pay myself 25 bucks an hour for use of water, electricity as well as my own time itself. All times based in pricing are approximate

Heres the packages and pricing for eaxh package

SUVs, Vans and Trucks subject to higher price due to size and time to complete

Premium Wash (int. and ext. cleaning)

* Hand washed using 2 buckets with grit guards
* Hand dried with premium microfiber drying towels
* All ext. plastics cleaned and dressed
* Wheels, wells and tires cleaned and dressed
* All glass cleaned inside and out
* Interior vacuumed
* Interior components dusted

35.00 + 25.00 x 1hr = 60.00

Premium Detail (int. and ext.)

* All above INCLUDING:
* Premium wax by hand
* Interior carpets and uhpolstery cleaned and de-stained with machine
* Interior components cleaned and dressed
* all exterior metals cleaned and polished (if applicable to the metal)

75.00 + 25.00 x 3hrs =150.00

Ultimate Premium Detail (int. and ext.)

* All of the above two INCLUDING:
* Premium machine compounding (remove paint defects)
* Premium machine polishing (remove secondary defects and bring out shine)
* Premium machine waxing (protect nearly perfect paint surface)
* Engine cleaned and dressed
* Trunk/hatch vacuumed
* Trunk/hatch carpets cleaned and de-stained
* All interior carpets and uhpolstery sprayed with stain resistant
* Interior deodarized
* All exterior lights cleaned and restored to original clarity

150.00 + 25.00 x 6hrs = 300.00

Exterior Wash Only

* All wash steps apply minus all interior steps

25.00 + 25.00 x .5hr = 37.50

Exterior Detail Only

* All ext. detail steps apply

50.00 + 25.00 x 1.5hr = 87.50

Exterior Ultimate Premium Detail Only

* All ext. ultimate premium staps apply

100.00 + 25.00 x 3hr = 175.00

Interior Cleaning Only

* All Interior Cleaning steps only

20.00 + 25.00 x .5hr = 37.50

Interior Detail Only

* All interior Detail steps Only

30.00 + 25.00 x 1hr = 55.00

Interor Ultimate Premium Detail Only

* All Interior Ultimate Premium Detail steps Only

50.00 + 25.00 x 1.5hr = 87.50

Now, thats about all i can think of for right now, HOWEVER, id like to know from you guys, the pros, if these prices would fly for the average person looking for a good detail or not.

Those prices look both fair for a client and good for you. As long as you get excellent results, you'll do fine with that pricing.

As long as you're not under-estimating the time the job will take.
I can't get any of those done in an hour.

2 Things:

Spell Deodorize properly

I think hand-waxing sounds better than machine waxing?

You lost me somewhere...you are charging an hourly rate (which includes water and electricity), and then you add some random charge to that...what is that other charge? Materials? You use $35 worth of materials on a premium wash?

Your prices seem extremely cheap. Maybe the market is a little different there, than it is here, but you should be able to win over good customers with your low pricing.

Re: Thoughts on packages/prices for my detailing buisness!

Pricing looks pretty good. I have the same "package" based pricing structure and it works very well for me.

That said, I know you mentioned that times are "approximate", but 1 hour to do your "Premium Wash (int. and ext. cleaning)" ?? You're very fast if that's possible for you to do....

Lost me too, maybe it's a destination/travel charge?

I'd cut this out of the package and have it be on its own. You can easily spend an entire hour doing yellow front headlights on some vehicles (if you do it correctly, tape everything off, return them to 100% clear again). I charge $35/hour for this service.

Re: Thoughts on packages/prices for my detailing buisness!

I have similar prices here in western north carolina. The trouble is, I have some customers tell me I'm to cheap, but when the phone rings, they tell me I'm to expensive. I have figured my prices based on my costs and profit needed. I am less expensive than many across the country and those I speak with can't believe that I can't get $300-$400 for a premium detail. Around here, I'm lucky if people know what a "detail" is. Then I have guys doing "full details" for $100 and advertising on Craigslist.....they come and go, but it "dumbs" the profession down. I am the most expensive in my market.
