Local newspaper coverage

I was fortunate enough to be covered by our local newspaper recently. The article came out in this past Saturday's paper and I've already had a handful of calls and new details scheduled because of it. I would encourage anyone that details for money to contact your newspaper to take advantage of some free advertising. It's all part of the "guerrilla marketing" if any of you have read that book. If your newspaper is like ours right now, they are looking for new stories to cover.

Hendricks County Flyer, Avon, IN - It’s all in the details

Re: Local newspaper coverage

How did you get them to do an article. I've tried to write some articles for them, but no luck.........

Cheers,
GREG

Re: Local newspaper coverage

Thanks guys!

Greg - My wife works in the marketing department of our county hospital. We worked a little barter deal with the lady that does media relations so she just sent the newspaper an email saying, "hey, there's new detailer in Brownsburg that's eco-friendly and has some details worth mentioning...". Our paper needed to fill some space so within a week they called to come out and talk to me. Even if you don't have a connection like that, I'd keep hitting them up on a regular basis. Since it's free advertising, it's worth the effort.

Thanks again!

You've got a nice shop (I've been there), so it's great to see you getting some good press.

Re: Local newspaper coverage

Adam - Thanks! Give me a call when you're in the area.

Got Leather - Thank you! After a rough end to last year, it's nice to finally be up and running again.

Todd - Thanks, I appreciate it. I just need to work on getting my reverse logo on my ceiling now...hehe!
