Comments on my website?

As of right now, I still have a few more "tweaks" to do to the site, but overall, it's finished.

I did not want a flashy site, or one with lots of reading, just something simple to showcase my pictures and prices.

Home Page

Let me know what you think!

Re: Comments on my website?

Not bad. I think the pics speak for themselves. Might want to change the fonts a bit your "Trucks and more" bleeds right into your "Pricing" link when looking at it. Also might want to tweak the banner pic just a bit. The red glow gets cut off right at the edge making it look just a bit off. Other than that I think it's a good set up. very to the point and like I said.. The pics speak all the words you'd ever need to.

Re: Comments on my website?

Yeah, that font is way off and does make it look like one link. Also, the links arent centered. Overall, i'm happy as a pig in...

Edit your Punctuation in your About Me

I really do have a passion for automotive detailing. I became a member of several auto detailing forums back in 2003, when I got my first car to learn how to keep it looking as good as the day it left the factory. When others started to ask how I kept mine so clean, and what kind of wax did I use, I realized there was a void in proper automotive detailing and reconditioning in the Wake Forest/Raleigh area. I realized that anyone can wash a car, but it would take some skill and experience to make the car truly look like it has that “Showroom Shine.

I have a fixed location in Youngsville, NC; and, I also offer mobile detailing (water and electric must be provided). I am more than just a detailer or someone that will simply “wash” your car. I detail every auto asif it were mine. I use advanced procedures such as the 2 bucket wash (will not induce any swirls in the paint) and proper car polishing (removing, not hiding the swirl marks). I also use high end (remove chemicals: eco-verbage)products to get the job done. On any given day I will be using products from Zaino, Poorboys, Meguiars, Optimum, Menzerna, Ultima, FK1 USA, Cobra and Pinnacle. Many of these products are imported and produce superior results to the “common” offerings found at ______.

If you are in need of a “Showroom Shine Detail”, give me a call today to discuss ________.

--------
Not reading too far into your site or commenting on design, I looked at the page that says the most about you: ""About Me". I always think this page should be super tight and reflect you as precisely as possible. So, I took the liberty of detailing the page for you. I didn't mess with any of your content (maybe just some wording) because only you know yourself and what you want to sell yourself as, but I added and changed some punctuation and also changed some words. Let me know if you have any questions. PS: I hate exclamation points.

Re: Comments on my website?

Very nice overall. You put in a lot of hours uploading all of your pics.

I see that you are hosting through GoDaddy. Did you use Website Tonight? Or did you build this on your own?

Now a few things...

- If the only thing you're going to have on your homepage is the picture of the car, resize it so it fits on the page without scrolling. This is tricky because everyone has a different resolution.
- You might want to add some sort of blurb on the home page to catch people's attention. Some catchy phrase or something. Right now, I see a picture of a car and it doesn't tell me anything.
- See if you can resize your Banner so that the glow doesn't bleed past the borders. That way it doesn't look chopped off and there is uniform black around the letters.
- The "Premium Auto Detailing" is kind of hard to read. Too busy.
- You are using different fonts on different pages for the detail text. You usually want to stay consistent with the font from page to page. Also, the font you used on the Prices page is a Serif type font (it has little ticks at the ends of the letters). The "norm" for web pages is to use a Sans Serif font like the ones used for your About Me page. They are easier to read via web browser.
- There's a Domain Name link at the bottom of the page that doesn't need to be there.

Please don't take this personally. I'm in the business of designing websites, so I notice these things as Autopians notice swirls that most people would never look twice at.

Have fun. PM me if you have any questions...

Re: Comments on my website?

Not bad, not bad. The one thing that puts me off is the repeated use of "I" in the "About Me" section. Even if you're a one man operation, consider using the Royal "we" instead. It sounds/looks more professional. If you're not comfortable doing that, just reword the section so you don't start off as many sentences with it. Good work, though. I'm in the process of making a website as well. It's a lot of work, but fun, too.

Re: Comments on my website?

A great looking website is useless it people can't find you.
Remember you are not only designing for people but machine(search engine) too.
Research (SEO)

Here is some tips.
Change the title of your homepage from homepage to SHOWROOM SHINE Auto Detailing YOUNGSVILLE, NC( 2ip code) (people are not searching for homepage)

Your homepage has no word or keyword that the search engine can use.(Your home page is the most important page for search engine, if there is no keyword they can't rank you)

Add keyword that people would search to find you, like (auto detailing YOUNGSVILLE, auto detailing NC, auto detailing...., car wash...) Also add a list of all the city and towns you service.

Re: Comments on my website?

Its decent for something temporary, but remember this, if your a "premier luxury detailing company", you better portray that image. The pictures you have right, just look like you took pictures of cars.
If I'm a customer and I go to your website, you better convince me to call you. Right now, I'm not convinced...

Word of mouth is your best bet, but I cant even tell you how many people found me because of my website...just something to think about.

I'll take a closer look and see what I can help with...
