Re: meta tag help on website!

Meta tags is how the search engine know what your site is all about.
It is a powerful tool to gain ranking, but most search engine are relying less on meta tags. They are relying more on actual content on your site.
Title is the most important, don't just put Acme Auto Detailing put Acme Auto Detailing San Francisco California 99102.
Description - describe your site, making sure you include your keywords in your description.
Keyword- include keywords that people would use to find your site, Like auto detailing, detailing San Francisco, auto detailing California, auto detailing (zip code).

Search for Search engine optimization (SEO)

Seodeep SAYS that they have free optimization, but how do you get it? Register first? There are no direct links.

Re: meta tag help on website!

How did you happen upon SEO Deep, or Deep SEO? They don't seem to be sure which way it should be.

I would recommend staying away from this company strictly due to the shoddiness of their site. It's riddled with bugs, there are still example entries in the Blog and FAQs sections not to mention a ton of typos and poor grammar. The only way to contact them is via email. No phone? How long have they been around? Where in the world are they? They have zero information about their service and pricing. As the cops would say "Move along. There's nothing to see here."

There are plenty of resources online that can give you good general guidance on seo. I would recommend educating yourself first and then decide whether it's something you want to tackle yourself or hire someone to do it. Like so many things, it looks rather simple, but there are many dos and don'ts to be aware of and staying on top of the changes in ranking criteria (that's unpublished by the search engines) and making sure you're gaining or maintaining your established ranking can turn into a part time job.

Re: meta tag help on website!

Metatags are old means of ranking and really don't play much of a part any longer. Things that do assist in gaining rankings in the organic listing are things like inbound links to your site, from other RELATIVE sites. Sign up for free online listing services. The more inbound links, the better your placements. An example would be that, if you were to google your business, it would likely display under a listing with the autopia url posted. Googlebot likely crawls Autopia daily, so most everything posted is available on Google. Also, you can go directly to Google to submit your url so that the Googlebot will crawl your site perioodically. Google Maps is also a good means to promote your site.

Finally, if you wish to participate in pay per click, get hipped up on the entire Ad Words gig and open and account.

All of our businesses are very active in online advertising and I have an inhouse web designer - we do ZERO print advertising. Online is instant, in most cases, and will bring you better options and reach when marketing your business.

If none of this works for you, I would suggest getting an HHR and doing $29.00 details at the mall. That seems to result in top placement in all browsers around The World.

Re: meta tag help on website!

Meta tags may no longer play a major role in your search engine rank but they are still important; meta descriptions can play a huge part in whether someone even clicks on your site and meta keywords only take about a minute to add and are still used by smaller search engines. As someone who works for an SEO company, I'd say that one of the best beginners guide I've come across is from Google themselves:

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - Webmasters/Site owners Help

Read through the starter guide at the top. They lay the basics out very well.
