need help deciding

i know there have been a few very informative posts about this or simmular things.

alright here is what i need help with.

heres a little bit of the story.
i was a ward of the court (foster child) for 14 years and as part of a program i am in they will help me get started on this. i really want to pursue this as a weekend extra money earning gig. and to do my own cars and friends cars.

so what i need is a list of good starter products and preferably a site for products or would like a package deal. i would like to stay with in 2k-2.5k range as im just starting.

and also as far as buisness plans go what should be included in them?
