Talking Post-Turkey Day Detail - 2002 Jeep Wrangler

This is my wife's Jeep which has been subjected to gas station washes and neglect over the years she's owned it. Since I married her a few months ago, I told her I'd take care of the Jeep for her.

Here's the before pictures:

The Jeep received the following:
  • Wash with Meg's NXT
  • Clay with Meg's polishing clay and Adams' QD
  • Wash again
  • Menzerna Power Gloss with LC Yellow pad
  • Menzerna IP with LC Orange pad
  • Menzerna FPII with LC White pad
  • Menzerna FTG with LC Black pad
  • 2 coats of 845IW
The rims were a work in progress of trying anything and everything to get the baked on brake dust off. I tried: Simple Green (diluted & undiluted), Meg's Hot Rims, Mother's Power Metal with Powerball, & Mother's Mag Polish.

The top and the tires were hit with Black Magic Tire foam. And the vinyl fender flares received Adam's VRT.

Afters:

I wasn't able to correct everything but the black paint looks better than it has in years.

Well I have to say, it definatly isnt perfect, but it's a 1000% improvement over how it was.

You have to tell her no more gas-station washes.

Big improvement, did you tape off the fender flares when you were in the polishing stage?

Definitely need to take some APC and a brush to those flares... The paint does look much better though!!

Yes. It's obvious in the pics, isn't it...

I probably shouldn't have bothered since they were so faded. But I just ordered some trim dye from AG to restore the black color.
