Chevy Silverado - Concrete Sealer Mess!! *25 pics*

I posted some time ago about opinions on what would be the best way to take off concrete sealer that got plastered all over the side of my friends work truck, as well as quite a bit on the inside. I finally got the truck last night and it was a mess, as the pictures will show. I washed it first then decided it would need another bath when I was done getting the sealer off so waited to clay it. I started on the chrome of the rear bumper with some solvent and it wasnt doing anything but softening it up and smearing it. I began to think I got in WAY over my head. Afer 10 minutes or so it started coming off. I finally cleaned the bumper off and decided to hitt the paint. Actually the paint wasnt too bad. It was a buttload of elbow grease and very time consuming but it ended up coming off. After 3 hours, the sun was going down, my elbow ached, and I called it a night. When I woke up at 6, I started on it again. Finally got it all off the paint and windows. Now its 10 in the morning and was ready to re-wash and clay. I should have taken a picture of the cb when I was done. Time for a new one. I broke out the makita and applied Mark V Film Clearer polish. I like it but my good stuff comes in next week. I then applied by hand some Megs NXT Liquid Tech Wax. I like the smell of it but to me it seemed rough to get off. I may not have let it cure long enough but we'll see on the next one. Anyhow, I dressed the bumpers, tires, and wheel wells and now think Im done with the outside with about 7 hours into it and still the interior to do. Heres pics of the exterior. I'll post pics of the inside when Im done tomorrow. Thanks for letting me ramble...

Jamie

You are a braver man than me, I would have turned it down.

Looks like it is coming along very well though.

Just FYI, Top of the Line has a concrete remover that is supposed to work very well. Only drawback is a long (30 minutes, I think) dwell time.

He's a good friend. These are the types of guys that help my business along. Plus, he owns the concrete company so when Im ready to put in that stamped concrete patio he'll be giving me the 'good guy discount'

Great job, those wheel wells look perfect! It just boggles my mind people can hop into a truck that looks this nice cleaned up and trash it as a work truck; especially seeing the leather seats

Bad news. He came and traded this truck with the next one Im working on and I forgot to get some interior shots. It looked pretty awesome, though, I promise. I'm going to post some pics of his other truck, too. Brand new Siverado. Very sweet. Stay tuned!
