Aussie noob with an XR5 Turbo.

Hi folks,

Long time Autopia reader, first time post from an Aussie detailing noob.

Love looking at the work people do here and it has inspired me to experiment with certain products. Still a learning curve for me just practicing on my own cars but I thought it was time to post a few pics of my efforts.

Quite happy with the results but keen to hear any recommendation on different products and methods from the pros here.

Anyway, my car is an 06 European Ford Focus ST (German built), rebadged and a unique model to Australia known as the XR5 Turbo. It runs a Volvo 2.5L 5 cylinder Turbo motor and drives like a dream, so much torque from the get go. My little mother of violence.

My detail products and methods:

Poorboys SSS with Gilmour Foam Gun (gotta love the Foam Gun )
Two bucket wash
Zaino Z5pro
Optimimum Car Spray Wax
Nattys Blue
303 Aerospace Protectant
Meguiars Tyre Spray
Pinnacle Leather Cleaner Conditioner

Thanks for looking, any advices or critique welcome.

Great looking car! You did a great job on it.

Now if only Ford was smart enough to sell cars that people would actually want to buy here in the U.S. I won't hold my breath for that though.

Car looks great. Here in Melbourne I think I have only seen two of these XR5 Turbos and one was at a dealership.

Very nice job, great reflections. I used to have an Integra like yours as well, but in red How long did you leave in between your Z5 Pro/OCW/Natty's Blue layers? Great plate too, just noticed it :P

Looking mighty fine! Very nice colour, the wheels really suit the car too. Not sure if you needed to use three different LSP's though. Like BlackElantraGT said, if we got the European Focus in North America I'd actually consider buying one. The POS Focus we have is older and uglier than the hills. Sigh...
