Zaino Vs. 2005 Saab and 2006 Chevy Work Truck

We’re in Ohio to celebrate Christmas with our family. My brother-in-law and brother hit me up for a few ‘Christmas Specials’.

2005 Saab
My brother lives near Detroit, and his black daily driver needed some TLC.

Wash:
Wash Z7
Wheels, Wells, Tires: A2Z x 2

Polish:
Optimum Poly Clay
ZPC & Metabo using a LC CCS green light cut pad, and white polishing pad @ 1100-1400 RPM.
Z5Pro on everything (paint, glass, lighting, wheels, jams)
The wells, tires and trim were dressed in Z16

Here are a few afters.

2006 Chevy Work Truck. This truck is ~ 6-8 months old, but sees a fair amount of rural travel on unpaved roads. It had a fair amount of mud, and tar build up. Sorry, no before shots. I anticipated washing the truck at my in-laws but we ended up washing at the my brother-in-laws plant.

We washed the truck with a heated/steam pressure washer, using soap on the exterior and APC on the frame & wells. We used various brushes on the frame, and had a the truck on a lift. I was shocked at how well the wells & frame turned out. It looked very close to new. After the washing duties, I drove to my in-laws to finish up.

Process Used:

Post Wash Prep:
Z6 wipe down (after driving ~ 8 miles)

Polish:
Optimum Poly Clay
ZPC & Metabo using LC CCS Orange Cut & White Polishing Pads @ 1200-1500 RPM.

Protect:
Z5Pro xfx’d x 1, Z2Pro x 1 to finish (paint, glass, lighting, trim, wheels)
Z16 on the tires and bumper moldings
CD-2 on the wells/frame. (I think we used 3-4 cans)

Interior:
I used a portable steamer for the interior (windows, seats, and rubber floor).
Everything was wiped down with an APC solution.
The floor & dash, doors, and jams seals received Z16 (x 2 on the floor).
EO was used to clean the glass

Here are a few after shots. It started raining part way through the detail, so the afters were taken in the garage -which had decent lighting.

Both look really good, but I really love the wet shine over all that flake the truck has.

Excellent work on both vehicles there! The flake on the truck is really impressive.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Too bad the lighting was poor for the Saab (and my camera skills suck) because the Saab paint actually looks better than the truck in person. LOL, Oh well....

Your camera leaves alot out of the pics...
But even tho it still shows you did a great job.
Try placing the camera down on a solid surface or tripod to get a better/clear shot.

Thanks for your help and for the kind words.

I forgot to pack my tripod. I don't have steady hands when it comes to photography, and the motion icon pops up on my camera every time. Ahhhh!
