2003 E320, 2003 Silverado, 2004 Cayenne, 2001 S Type

2003 Mercedes E320. Regular detail customer (a couple times a year or so) traded in her '96 Acura RL and bought this E320. Overall, it was in excellent shape but needed heavy claying, especially on the front end. Funny thing about that though, the car wash she takes it to (too far for regular washing by me) told her the paint felt rough and recommended claying-so she called me to set up an appointment!

Anyway, I clayed the whole car with the Mother's Clay Bar since my Optimum Opti-clay got trashed removing grinding dust from a Cavalier and it was easier to run to Pep Boys than to meet up with my Optimum distributor on short notice. Anyway, the Mother's clay bar is softer than it used to be, much more like the regular Clay Magic Blue. Did a very nice job on all the grit. Looking over the car, which by then I had to move into the garage to finish (because a 30% chance of rain in Dallas means it is definitely going to rain), the paint looked remarkably swirl and defect free. I simply polished it out with Optimum Poli-Seal using a white LC polishing pad and finished with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose. The pics aren't the greatest, I had to take them in their garage. I am supposed to detail their Yukon XL this coming Sunday, if the E is clean, I'll see if I can get some better shots.

The interior was cleaned with Woolite/water, vinyl dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus, leather with Turtle Wax Leather Conditioner.

2003 Chevy Silverado. Regular weekly wash customer-this one is washed conventionally at the warehouse with the deionized/reverse osmosis water set-up. I wash it anywhere from 2-4 times a month and it sits outside or under a carport at his house. It stays in the warehouse during the 2-3 days he drives it to work each week. Pretty good test for Meguiars #16. I applied it on August 26th of this year, after polishing with #83 and #80. I took this picture on December 11th after washing it. This picture shows both the beading and sheeting characteristics at the 3 1/2 month point since applying #16.

The owner doesn't like going much past 3 months without rewaxing so I went over the truck with Optimum Poli-seal using a white LC polishing pad, which cleaned up the paint very nicely, then sealed with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose. Here it is in the warehouse with the Souveran'ed Rolls and the 45' Newell Motor Coach.

The outside shots came out weird, not much I can do when the parking lot is in the full shade and the background is still in the sun. Nowhere on the lot to pull the truck into full sunlight. The paint looks too light in the first two pics, just a touch light in the 3rd and too dark in the last one. I may end up going digital, the exposure problems are pi$$ing me off!

2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Weekly wash customer, wax it about every 2 months or so. Last done using Optimum Polish, Poli-Seal and Souveran about 6 weeks ago. Still looked good and had very good slickness after an ONR wash but the Souveran shimmer was fading. As a little gift to some of my regulars around Christmas time, I've been going over their cars with Optimum Car Wax while I wash them to give them extra pop for the holidays. Plus, since some of them tip extremely well for Christmas (already have one $100 tip this season), it is the least I can do.

As expected, OCW added a very nice glow to the paint.

2001 Jaguar S Type 4.0. Retired owner, drives it a few times a week. Something like 30,000 miles on it. He calls me out to detail it every 8-9 months. Still looked pretty decent after washing, some very minor scuffs on the trunk lid and a few light paint transfers and that was it.

Not sure how apparent the difference is between these two pics, it definitely was in person, very noticable improvement in depth and a slight darkening.

After using Poli-Seal, I finished the car off with Optimum Car Wax. Probably the easiest two step process you can do...and it yields excellent results!

Of course, by the time I finished, the entire driveway was in the shade.

That one guy owns a Rolls Phantom and a regular Silverado? He could have at least been a baller and got a Duramax

His CFO owns the Silverado. The Rolls owner has a raised F-250.

Great job Scott as always!! I believe you make every LSP look good. But you always have proper prep for the paint. The moose wax is looking better everytime you show it. What kind of durability have you seen with it? thanks

I get a good 4-5 months of beading, decent slickness and appearance out of CMW. Definitely the most durable liquid carnauba I have used.

Surfer-he owns several strip clubs. I can get in free any time I want but I really don't see the point of a hot nekkid girl standing in front of me if I can't put my hand (and other things!) all over her. No point in paying to be teased...
