Thumbs up WX51 TXR + Werkstatt Carnauba vs Red 997

Been soooo busy over the summer that I haven't posted on here for ages! First of a few new ones, a simple protection detail on a Porsche 911 Carrera (997). The owner had just purchased the car second hand, and was disappointed with the richness of the finish. In cases like this, I reach for the Werkstatt Carnauba twins, which really seem to deepen solid colours. The car was fairly clean when I arrived, so no need for before pics, instead here's the process and the afters...

Wash

Whole car rinsed at moderate pressure using the Karcher
Alloys treated with Meguiars Wheel Brightener, cut 4:1 and left for 60 secs before rinsing off
Whole car foamed with Poorboy’s Slick n Suds (4:1 mix in foam gun) and left to dwell for 5 mins
Whole car rinsed at moderate pressure using the Karcher
All trims and inside the arches treated with P21S Total Auto Wash
Whole car washed with Poorboy’s Slick n Suds using lambswool (bodywork) and microfibre (wheels and inside arches) mitts, and the two bucket method
Whole car rinsed with an open-ended hose
Whole car dried with waffle weave towels

Polish/Protect

All bodywork polished with Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Carnauba using a 7.5” Lake Country white polishing pad, using Jeffs Werkstatt Carnauba Glos to loosen the residue on the first pass when buffing off, and Jeffs Werkstatt Carnauba Jett on subsequent passes until perfect. This method cuts down on the time required to complete the work, makes the work easier and still leaves the same beautiful finish that two separate steps gives. The alloys got a coat of Poorboy’s Wheel Sealant, the tyres got Blackfire Long Lasting Tyre Gel, the windows got Meguiars NXT Glass Cleaner and the exhaust tips got Meguiars NXT All Metal Polysh.

And here’s the pics…

No, they are prev-gen Seat Leon Cupras.

But not surprising, because the typical Walter de Silva styling-language is instantly recognizable.

That car looks real slick. Have you slid a terry cotton towel across the hood? I bet that thing would fly off so fast.

How was applying Carnauba Jett by polisher? I've tried it by hand and it was extremely tough to work with. Currently using CJ and OCW 50/50.

No! I don't use cotton products, only good quality microfibres. But, yes, one of my towels would indeed fly off the bonnet!

I didn't - I applied the Prime by PC, then spritzed the residue with Carnauba Glos and Carnauba Jett while buffing off by hand. I personally wouldn't apply CJ by machine. I find it very easy to work with by hand - the appraoch I adopt is to spray it onto a plush towel, wipe over a small area, allow to haze for 60 secs, then buff off with another plush towel. Wipe on, wipe off really seems to work well with the Werkstatt LSP's, it also the method I use with AJ Trigger.
