do you not rinse this stuff off? (or, why do you let it set 5 minutes)

I dont have a foam gun yet but I'll assume the reason they measure dwell time is they are using it like a pre-wash. This would help to loosen and remove dirt before washing to decrease the risk of inducing marring.

Yeah, that's the right idea.

Dwell time is the period that the product sits on the surface- letting it soak for a while gives it time to do its thing. Like spraying a stain remover on laundry and letting it sit for a while before putting it in the washing machine.

I don't let it dwell that long though, don't want to risk it compromising my LSP let alone drying on the finish. Spray it on, let it dwell, then proceed per usual. It just gives the shampoo a little time to start dissolving any built-up dirt.

Simple Green has a foam gun Identical to the Gilmour..I believe it is made by Gilmour also...When the foam gun craze started it was either a gilmour or a simple green...both were found at janitorial supply houses...

I've got the karcher and will get the foam wand this weekend. Is this combo adequate for quick washes in the winter when it's too cold for a hand wash?

I just got my Gilmour gun today and couldn't wait to try it out (even tho it's been drizzling all day). The wife's WRX was absolutely filthy, so I did a strong dilution of Z7 and went at it. Easily went over the car 2-3 times, cranking the gun up to high soap usage, then rinsed off. I'd say it did a great job of cleaning up loose pollen and dirt. I'm going to love using this thing and I think the wife might actually WANT to wash her car now

I got the gun at autogeek on sale along with some of their brass quick disconnect fittings and brass on/off flow control knobs. Also very nice. Stuck one on my firehose sprayer and one on the foam gun.

I dont know how you get away with such little soap, I used about 6 -7ozs of CGS super suds and it barely lasted the length of the wash

Cheaper here, use the discount code "autopia" for 10% off.

I have one, and I dont think that it is that big of a deal but it could be because I havent figured out the correct soap ratio yet.
