First Detail!! - Scion TC

Well, I just got done performing my first detail! I got a new Scion
TC a few weeks ago and I wanted to really treat it right.

The detail went as follows:

car wash - sonus gloss shampoo
clay - sonus sfx ultra-fine detailing clay
polish - Klasse AIO
Sealant - Klasse High Gloss Sealant
Glaze Tires - Sonus Tire Gel
Outside Trim - Sonus Total Eclipse

Process: Wash, clayed, wash, polish, sealant

Things I learned : Dang ... detailing cars is really hard work. I have
washed and waxed cars before, but when you do it "right" it takes a lot
out of you It took me 6+ hours to do a full inside and outside
detail (and my car is relatively small!). I have really gained a lot of
respect for the guys and gals that do this full time. While I really
enjoyed detailing my car, I could never detail cars for a living!! I
feel that the detail went fairly well (thanks to all of the great posts
and articles). The only thing that I have to redo is the windows. I
tried to dry them as soon as I finished washing the car but I still got
water spots that I cannot get to go away!! I also ended up using more
"product" than I probably should have ... but it really isn't a biggie
since I don't do this for a living. Most of the stuff that I got should
still last me a LONG time. Another thing that really, really impressed
me was the clay. I must say that I was a skeptic about the whole clay,
polish and sealant thing when I first starting reading this forum. I
felt my paint before I started and it did feel a bit rough. After I
washed the car it pretty much looked clean but I figured that I would go
ahead and clay anyway. All I have to say is, "WOW!!". I could not
believe the dirt that came off my car. I haven't even had it for that
long! After the clay, polish and sealant, the paint feels so "glossy"
it is amazing. Another thing that I figured out is that I definitely
need to invest in a PC.
Now, here a few pics for your enjoyment:

The whole front end has the Llumar paint protection film

Nice job.

How do you like the tC? I see a lot more of them around lately. Pretty good looking little car.

So far I really like it. I did a lot of research before I bought it and I feel that it is a really good "bang for the buck" type of car (didn't want to get into nasty car payments). It gets pretty good gas mileage, uses the camry engine, standard model comes pretty well equiped, etc. I know some people are not big fans of the TC but it is hard to beat, from a cost standpoint, when you consider it costs less than $17k new. Also, I live in KY so there aren't too many of them around yet

Beautiful shot, can we get a clear shot of the roof? I've never seen one up close.

That's what I'm talkn about. That's a great job and excellent photos. I love that car for style and price point. Trust me, you have just set the standard for yourself, there's no going back. Welcome to the dark side. The fact that you took 6 hours+ says that you really took your time and did it right.

One area that I look at that shows a person attention to detail is the wheel wells and they look great. Nothing looks worse than a clean car with dirty wheel wells.

Great job.
