Cool Cleaned Up My Headlights

Sorry guys, not a full detail but i finally cleaned up my headlights. I didnt get around buying a new pair of headlights, so i saw a tutorial online and tried it out my self. I saved myself $200. Go ahead, flame me for not taking care of them in the firstplace.

Anyway, here's what i did.
-Soaked 350, 600, 1200, and 1600 grit sand paper in some nxt
-Went ahead and wetsanded the headlights from 350->1600
-Polished with ssr2.5 on yellow lc pad
-Hand Polished with megs plastix
-waxed with vm hand glaze.

^PC 7336 W/LC Yellow Pad^

^Soaking The Sandpaper In Some Soap (Same Grit Sandpaper You Rec.)^

^SSR2.5 & Plastx^

^Amazing After Shot^

Did you try a less intense process first? I've cleared up a lot of headlights with just a couple quick applications of Mothers Plastic Polish. I would think the SSR2.5 and the yellow pad followed by PlastX would do the trick.

Great job nonetheless! They sure look way better than before. Now keep them protected with a sealant so that they won't return to that faded state again.

Yeah, I used the Meguiar's 3 step crystal system on mine and it worked great. I don't think you have to get too aggressive with them for it to turn out nice. Nice job though.

Weird how your headlights got like that. I had a 1988 Mustang that had clear headlights up until the day I sold her in 2003. Nice job on the clean up, and the write up.
