Cool Latest Detail 1978 Mercedes 450 SEL (28k miles)

This single stage paint 78' Mercedes 450 SEL has 28k miles and is all original (minus the tires). The owner has every slip of paper and sticker that came with the car.

It is near mint+. Last year we...uh...I mean he took 1st place at the annual Mercedes show at their headquarters in NJ after my detail.

I detail all his cars on a regular basis. This mercedes came to me 3 years ago in AWFUL shape - loaded with holograms and swirls courtesy of sume buffer goon at a local dime store car wash. I corrected it with #80, GEPC, #7 and #16. I did the same combo last year. Something seems so right about #7 and #16 on single stage paint

This year, I was battling the sun even with my tent so I wanted to use all my Clearkote products. I was able to get the paint cleansing done prior to the strong sun.

Process (all surface correction done years prior)
Wash with sheepskin, 2 buckets, Meguiar's #62 and foam gun w/ #62
Wheels - #62 / Tires - 5:1 EFHI and #40 to dress
Chrome - Vanilla Moose / Trim - Autoglym Bumper care topped w/ #40
Glass - Water and a MF
Sonus Paintwork Cleanser white LC pad PC speed 5
Vanilla Moose blue LC pad PC speed 5
Red Machine Glaze black LC PC pad speed 5
Souveran paste by hand

Interior - 303 on everything and Pinnacle leather Cleaner & Conditioner on seats. Vacuum only of carpeting

Enjoy the images! I'm still learning camera skills

Wow very nice. I see you have photobucket. How'd you get your images so big? Mine are 3/4 of those sizes. Do you resize first to a certain pixel count, or just upload right away.

Gosh, I really like the color! Such a rich copper color. The images don't do it justice.

SilvaBimma, I snap the pics at the highest resolution and then download them to my machine. I then use Easy Tumbnails to resize all of them to 800x600 then upload them to Photobucket.

Easy as pie!

12' x 12' $99 at Wal Mart. Not the best construction, but works just fine and is alife saver from the beaming sun.
