Astra Detail - my first detail for somebody else

Ok todays detail, well actually it started as yesterdays detail, due to the weather I had a couple of stops and starts, by drying the car off and re-applying product, something of a nightmare really. The process then:

Wash BMW shampoo
Clay
#83 DACP - Orange Pad (Sonus)
1z Mettallic Polish
Carlack68 (AIO) - Blue Pad (Sonus)
P21s Hand application
z16 Tyres
Trim AG Trim and Rubber care
Glass - Carlack68

This was a much bigger job than I anticipated, the car was clearly in need of a clean, and my good friend John (the owner) is such a busy guy that he never gets time to clean his car. His paint finish (once discovered) is excellent, hardly any OP at all, anyway enjoy the pics, and as ever look forward to your responses ... I have a detail to do tomorrow on a RAV4, and I have no idea what to use on the vinyl underside ... any suggestions ?

Anyway the pics Oh and the car is 7 years old I think

Thats some excellent work there Paul and a great finish, lovely deep and wet reflections, well done

My plans for a Sunday detail were blown away by gales and rain, sleet and snow showers, why does it always rain on me

Btw Paul, isn't that an Astra , sorry

Thanks for your comments and all of your help Mike

Thanks for the comments Nick, and you are correct it is an Astra, doh! The gales were here too, and a lot of showers, it was very cold, approx -7 ... I would have used Zaino as the finish on this car due to the miles that the owner does, but the temperature I believe is too low for Zaino to set, at least that has been my experience when I have tried it before.

I can tell you what the process is going to be now:

Megs GC wash + clay
AG SRP on green
AG EGP by hand
both then topped with the new AG Ultra Deep Shine on blue

Needless to say I have some AG that I need to get rid of!

Ben

I was just going to ask the very same question regarding the wheels, they look really bad, I guess something like WW would be needed on those wheels. Did you manage to clean the inside of the alloys completley?

Nice work you really brought the car back to life, I bet the owner is pleased with you.
