Talking '93 Toyota Supra Turbo detail

Hey all!!

Every now and then I detail a car that makes me take a step back and just say...wow. This 1993 Supra is one of those cars. It belongs to a good friend of mine who owns and operates the local dynojet shop (www.dynolab.net) here in Marietta. If you are local and want to see what your car is putting to the ground give Art a call. He's a super nice guy and has a great dyno set up.

To the car Batman...

Now please forgive me for not knowing that much about this car. I love fast rides but imports are not my forte. I know this car started life back in 1993 as a twin turbo automatic tranny car. It now has a massive single turbo set-up and race built auto trans. It sports a custom wide body kit and is shod with large by huge 18x12.5" rear rims by O.Z. Racing. The front tires are 275/35/18's and the rears are massive 335/30/18's. The brakes are the size of dinner plates and are by StopTech I believe. With the boost turned up north of 20psi it will lay down mid 500's at the wheels. Art has promised me a ride when the weather warms up (it didn't break 40 today) and I am GREATLY looking forward to it.

The detail:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Polish with Poorboy's PwC using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 6. The car was covered in rotary holograms...very light but they were everywhere.

Seal with Poorboy's EX using a Meg's 9006 pad and my PC set at 4. I let the EX set on the paint for about 30 minutes before removal.

Enjoy (I sure as heck did),
Mike

Those Supra's are sweet. I keep waiting for Toyota to 're-release' the Supra, as Nissan was successful in bringing the Z-car back.

Mike -- is that the original paint? It looks great, btw!

ntwrkguy1 its a repaint in a custom color. It looks a lot like the BMW carbon metallic in the sunlight.

I was going to ask the same question - did the holograms come out with PwC?

Very wet looking pictures - great job!

PS: No claying was needed?

Jay and tdekany the PwC/8006 pad combo got rid of them. They were very, very light but covered the car in consistent patterns from stem to stern.

No clay needed.
