I worked on a black Lambo yesterday

We were doing a training/tech session for the local Audi chapter and there happened to be a Gallardo in attendance. I saw the car in the direct sunlight when they were pulling it into the showroom and I almost wept. The black paint was gross with holograms and buffer marks. It was one of the most poorly detailed black cars I had ever seen. I knew right then it would be my mission to rub on that car before the day was done. I felt like I owed it to the baby bull.

Well it turned out the owner of the car was a very nice guy and well aware of the miserable state of his paint. He mentioned that if it wasn't a Lambo he would have been more embarrassed. I could see his point. I was done with the tech session, so I offered to clean it up a bit for him. I told him in the short amount of time I had I couldn't get it perfect, but he would at least look good for the rest of the weekend. He pulled it into the bay, and I have to say the song of that V10 was lustful. It was just what one would expect from an exotic Italian. So enough story, here are some pics.

This is the best "before" picture I got. If you look at the front quarter you can see the buffer marks. Imagine it 10 times worse on the rest of the car.

Zoom

The rest are after shots in the sun. The lighter spots are clouds not buffer marks.

This was a quickie job just to remove the holograms and buffer marks. I used einszett Wax Polish Soft, a 7336 and a black finishing pad. I get the car back on Friday to rid the car of spider webs and swirls.

I have 27 pictures here-Lambo G.

Wow that thing looks awesome!

Just curious, how do you get rid of spiderwebbing? I have some on my front bumper...

Thanks. It was truly a pleasure to work on.

For the spider webbing, I will use a light abrasive polish. It's not too bad since the car is like new with 900 miles. Depending on how bad yours is, you may need to use a heavier abrasive.

No, I didn't drive it. I will see it again on Friday, so I am hoping for at least a ride around the block.

Yikes! Did you say "for a week" because of the oils in the 1Z? It looks brand new now (even though it is) instead of a governmental confiscation vehicle Nice work!!

Nice work Nick . I hope he didn't have to pay extra for the holograms.

Sorry, I meant that I removed the holograms, but didn't get the spider webs and swirls out. He was so impressed with my "quickie" job that he hired me to spend a few hours with the car on Friday. This guy also owns a twin turbo Porsche, Audi RS6 and a couple F cars. I hope to soon spend time with all his fine ladies. Of course I go nowhere without the Fuji.

Just goes to show why it should be illegal for dealers to wax or polish any cars.

Looks like you did a terrific job on the paint!

There's no 'oils' on the WaxPolish Soft. In fact, alone, it lasts more than a month.

Gorgeous car, nice pics

Thats terrible, dealerships that sell $250,000 cars can't even get this right? Sad. Great work fixing her up!

My fiance's Prius just came in and we're driving to WV to pick it up Thursday night. I THINK we made them understand "no detailing, no dealer stickers or badges" but we'll see.

The saddest statement of all is the dealer knew how bad the car looked. Their answer was "yeah, bring it by and we'll fix it."

They should have never delivered that car. I guess that is what happes when the only Lambo dealer in town is a Subaru dealer.
