Just got my Canon PowerShot G2 (LE Black)

Got it on Friday and im still playing with all the settings. This was my first camera so im still learning about shutter priority, AP, and who knows what else this camera has. Here are some macro shots I took using some flashlights for lighting. Shots were hand held and are unaltered except for the resizing on the front page.

If link doesnt work, email me at mistakaroo@aol.com

FNG- Nice! I think you're gonna get the hang of it in no time. BTW, a light camera like the G2 isn't gonna need an overkill tripod.

Do you have any suggestions for better pics (besides a tripod)? I know its not a 10lb+ camera but id like something that will last the life of the camera...and then some.

Your pics are good, the resolution is excellent, I can see your fingerprint in the head of the nickel in the last pic.

I currently have a Fuji Finepix A303, but I would really like to step up to a camera with more manual feautres, and better picture quality.

FNG- A little good research/reading will do more for your pics than anything else (sounds like noobie detailing advice, huh? ). Learn about exposure, when you want certain f-stops/shutter speeds, etc. and how to get your camera to use them. Note that even with "automatic" cameras, you can often "trick" them into doing what you want.

Oh, and ANY 'pod will probably last longer than we will. My Quick-Set was old when my dad got it, and my wife's still using it.
