Join Date: Aug 2002 Location: Santa Barbara, CA Posts: 756 | I second the recommendation for the dpreview web site.  Besides camera reviews, they have forums, somewhat like this one, for each camera maker. You can learn alot of tips and tricks about photography and cameras/accessories.
This is where is did my research before I bought my Canon G2. Good luck!

In the 2 megapixel category, they liked the kodak DX3600 and the Olympus c-2040. In the 3-5 megapixel category, the favorites were the Sony DSC-707, Canon Powershot G2 (? soon to be G3) and the Olympus Camedia C-3040.
I also read a computer magazine and they liked the same Canon as well as the Olympus models noted above. My impression from what I've read is that the Canon is probably the best, however, you probably won't go wrong with one of the Olympus's.
I scanned E-bay for those models. The Canon's are pretty pricey, however, there are a lot of great deals on the Olympus's (nearly 1/2 price).
