2010 BMW M3. Owner recently acquired this car from the original leaser who was no longer able to afford the car with the new house he bought. Put a lot down on the lease so my customer is actually paying less per month than he was for his 335! Overall the car was in decent shape, which is to be expected for a car less than a year old. Cloudy when I arrived so I used my halogens to look over the car. Unfortunately, none of the swirls would show up on camera and by the time I finished the sun was out anyway so no good before shots.

This was not going to be an all out correction, the car is a lease and a daily driver, but the owner wanted it looking as good as I could get it without going too nuts. The main issues were the hood and trunk lid, so I used my G110 with Meguiars #105 and a burgandy Meguiars cutting pad, then I followed with Meguiars #205 using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad over the entire car. Of course, all the dusting from #105 meant a second ONR wash, which was followed by Clearkote's Carnauba Moose buffed off using Optimum Car Wax.

The leather and vinyl were cleaned with Woolite HE/water at a 20:1 dilution, carpets with BioKleen's Traffic Lane Cleaner. Vinyl dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus, leather with a test leather conditioner from Optimum (which is really nice!).

1969 Dodge Dart 340 Swinger. Been in the paint shop about 2 years...yes, 2 years. Owner ended up suing the shop to get his car finished properly. The engine was removed for the paint job and they put a hole in the aftermarket radiator and there were oil and coolant leaks as well. On the plus side, the paint job is really, really good. They did a nice job polishing it out too. All it needed was an ONR wash and a coat of Optimum Car Wax.

The 340 was rebuilt with 10:1 forged pistons, hydraulic cam with 280 degrees advertised duration and a 112 degree centerline so while it lopes, it isn't a wild sounding cam, Edelbrock heads and intake, headers, built 727 automatic, posi rearend-not sure of the gears-aftermarket anti-roll bars and urethane bushings, oddly enough though, only a Demon 525 cfm carb-mostly because the car was meant for his son and he was basically limiting the performance with an undersized carb until his son got used to the power-well, two years in the body shop and the son lost interest and now has a Dodge Ram and the Dad is looking to sell the Dart as is.

    Great job, Scott.

Anyone notice how appalling the panel gap tolerances are on the BMW M3? They certainly don't make them like they used to.

Ah jeeeze, another great contribution to the gene pool I'm sure. Guess it's a good thing that nice car isn't ending up in his hands. Feel for the father though...
