06 STi Interior/Exterior Detail & CTS-V/Jetta Wash/Wax

Got a call from a local NASIOC/Mazdas247 (just traded in his Mazdaspeed3 for this STi) member dropped off his STi yesterday morning for a interior/exterior/wheels off detail.

He wanted the wheels taken off and cleaned good and the Brembo brakes cleaned also, so I obliged.

Wash w/Foam Gun
clay
wash
DACP, Meg Red Cutting pad, PC 7424
NXT sealer applied with PC and soft foam pad, removed with Med pad/MF bonnet
Meguiars APC 10:1 for wheel wells, dressed with Hyperdressing 3:1
Wheels cleaned with HiTemp wheel cleaner
All glass cleaned with Stoners
Exhaust polished with generic glass cleaner & #0000 Steele wool
Carpets cleaned with Top Of the Line carpet shampoo via Bissel mean green steam machine
All interior cleaned with Meguiars Quick Interior Detailed
Interior clear plasic polish used on dash, radio display
misted Meguiars Ulitimate quick detailed and buffed to a final gloss

Here are the pics:

Here's how it looked when we dropped it off. The paint was in very good shape, just needed a light buff and some TLC.

Re: 06 STi Interior/Exterior Detail & CTS-V/Jetta Wash/Wax

And today I went to a NASIOC member place to do a wash and wax(sealant) on his CTS-V and his wife's Jetta. I've done his V twice previously, last year when we got it and earlier this year. The paint/wax is holding up nicely, but it needed a good washing and a fresh coat of sealant.

wash (no foam gun, his hose/nozzle is seized in place) w 2/bucket method
hyperdressing 3:1 on wheels
exterior glass w/Stoners
generic glass cleaner/#0000 steel wool on exhaust
NXT applied w PC/soft foam & removed w/Med pad/MF bonnet

Re: 06 STi Interior/Exterior Detail & CTS-V/Jetta Wash/Wax

So I just got a message from the owner of the 06 STi. His buddy at work wants essentially the same treatment on the exterior of his car done this weekend and the STi wants to set up a once-every-two-weeks cleaning of the STi for next spring. He's storing it for the winter, so next year he wants a wash/wax/vacume/wheels cleaned. This will be me first scheduled regular detail customer if it happens. Only took 7 years of PT detailing! I've got some regular/return customers who call me annually to do their cars but none so far have wanted to schedule something. Exciting, for me anyways.

I hope the tire was protecting the rim when it was laying face down

However, nice work!!

The tire was a lip saver. The wheels were pretty badly rashed and beaten, not that it makes it ok.

I was 100% careful in laying the wheels down on their face when I did and made sure not to move them at all when cleaning the inside.

I'm doing another wheel off detail for his friend as I posted above, and I'm gonna have some carboard handy to make sure the face is protected.

I'm assuming that the cardboard will be usesless when I'm done with the water/cleaner. What other options do I have to protect the face of the wheels?

I can't tell if that's internet sarcasm on the nasioc/subaru or what. they account for over 30% of my customers, so I can't complain.

I have some gardening knee pads that you toss on the ground that I'm gonna use for the wheels off detail this weekend that I'm doing, but carpet is a good idea. My brother in law is building a new house, so I'll see if I can get some spares from him.

I would think one of those MF chenille bath rugs would work good for the wheels off part. They'd get dirty fast, but they wouldn't scratch the wheels or anything.

OIC. I joined back in 02 when I got my WRX and have been on there almost daily since.

I just did a car today and picked up some gardening knee pad/matt things that worked out well. they are a foam/plastic and cleaned up nicely even after being covered in brake dust dirt water.
