Dont have to tell me, I spent around an hour painting rock chip, and scratches on the bumper, gm's new paint sucks, it seams that every car I do has rock chips all over the rocker panels.

I hear you on that one... I already had it repainted under the TSB for the chipping, but I couldn't bring myself to allow the clear bra to be installed down there. Guess I'm just gonna have to repaint the lower panels every 10k miles

Re: SS Trailblazer

^Yup, I refuse to put the 3m on the paint. I figure that with it and over time you'll get an etched line where the film was applied (along with oxidation), thus causing damage to the paint anyway. You can wetsand, of course; But how many times can you do that? Add this, plus the cost of taking off and re-applying the film, and you will essentially pay the same money for a re-spray.

What I do, (its still a headache), is to use a film down in that area that you take off and put on at anytime (Its called "Clearastic"---google, and its made to fit the vette). I use this film for the road trips, and so far its been effective. The bumper and hood you'll have to either suffer the chips, or use some other products that you can apply to protect that area.

Any way you look at it..........its still a pain in the tush!

Ive noticed on the toyota tocoma trd im detailing it has some sort of heavier paint at the bottom near the rocker panels + mud flaps help a lot from rock throwing.
